Well looks like all these gay tolerant churches/ christian are wrong.🙂

Most of these laws were passed in barbaric times, and a heavy hand was needed to scare the humans into doing what was right. Otherwise the society of today might not have developed the way it has.

After all most of these sins which were mentioned play a big part in the problems of modern society.

But I see your point, on one side its kill and slaughter on the other its love your neighbor.

Well I don´t want some women trying to squash my nuts thats for sure, try and bring back this old law.

That sentence needs finishing, but you are anti-christian. You're certainly not pro-christian after all.

Examples:

"Love Thy Neighor"

"Turn the Other Cheek"

"Treat others as thou wish to be Treated"

"Thou shalt not kill"

Yeah, you follow christian teachings.

He believes what the Bible preaches. How can he be against it? Without it, he wouldn't be himself.
There are many people that have never heard or read the Bible and have the same morals, just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to be against everything that it stands for.

Lord xyz simply doesn't like me and never did 😆

He knows my point, but he is trying his best to demonize me as a Christian/Bible hate mongerer, because it makes it easier for him to dislike me that way. It's easier for him (and Alliance) to see the black or white, and ignore the grey.

Yes, but those people have the morals because of a different reason.

I have eyes, it's how I read shit like this.

Xyz, I've answered your question in the last page. Respond to it, or don't, but don't waste my time with your instigations.

Like I'm an Atheist but my wife is Catholic and I'm for animal rights but I hate PETA, I don't know why some people don't get this 😕

People like xyz, Alliance, JIA, Marcello and others see in Black and White. They beleive that if you are for a religion you are for it 100%, and if you are not for a religion, then you are against it 100%.

That's why you'll notice the amount of anger/impatience/closed mindedness in thier posts. They can't possibly see in moderate perspective.

So what, they are still the same. You don’t kill because of the harm that it does to others and you can empathize, empathy is what I believe is the reason for all morals. People before the Bible had many of the same morals about killing, stealing, being kind and so on before it was ever written in the Bible.

Yeah, it's not like stupidity and ignorance ever made the other person angry.

I did you fool. 😐

I have morals, and I am atheist. This doesn't come from religion, it comes from me being able to distinguish good acts from bad acts. God didn't snap his fingers and make all Chrisitans good people. it doesn't work like that. I agree with Kali, many of the people here cannot see the grey.

Grow up. There's smarter ways to handle a situation you disagree with then with childish insults.

No you didn't. You keep trying to resurrect your point, and it fails.

We're talking about anger here, last time I checked childish insults are completely different.

What the **** do you think this is:

You did not answer my response, you simply resurrected your previous question.

I answered your question before.

Either stay to the topic at hand, or don't post.

But those of you who are here are brought up in the world of today which has laws, these laws come originally from various religious backgrounds whether it be the Bible, Koran or wise words from some other Deity (or non Deity).

These laws are the core of social behavior, education, of parenting, of Movie/book story stereotype of who is bad and good. Before you are an adult you have already been brainwashed (for want of a better word).

The question is is a person born bad, do they become bad due to their surroundings, influence etc.

That's not the same thing, denying certain parts of the Bible and still call yourself a devout and Bible-following Christian is like being a PETA member and be a chicken eater.
If you think it's ok and natural to be gay you are denying a passage of the Bible. How one can say the Bible is a holy book and the word of God after saying it's ok to be gay is beyond me.

The gay thing is an example, it's not meant to spark a discussion about the moral status of the actual behavior.

Let me make it Clear, that the Bible is indeed full of Wisdom. There are wondorful quotes such as "Treat others the Way Thou Wish to be Treated" and "Love Thy Neighbor"

But for every beautiful and loving quote, you can also find a hateful and violent one:

The Bible is not perfect. It is entirely fallible. IT is simply human word, human tradition, human wisdom and emotion. There is no way an All-Loving God inspired it 100%.

If the All-Loving Father exists, then Either God only inspired parts of it, or God is both Good and Evil.

Let us begin: This is the Evidense which shows how Violent, Unreasonable, and Malignant the Bible can be:

************************************************************

(Deuteronomy 3:1-7 NLT)******

"Next we headed for the land of Bashan, where King Og and his army attacked us at Edrei. But the LORD told me, 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have given you victory over Og and his army, giving you his entire land. Treat him just as you treated King Sihon of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon.' So the LORD our God handed King Og and all his people over to us, and we killed them all. We conquered all sixty of his towns, the entire Argob region in his kingdom of Bashan. These were all fortified cities with high walls and barred gates. We also took many unwalled villages at the same time. We completely destroyed the kingdom of Bashan, just as we had destroyed King Sihon of Heshbon. We destroyed all the people in every town we conquered – men, women, and children alike. But we kept all the livestock for ourselves and took plunder from all the towns."

(Joshua 6:20-21 NLT)*******

When the people heard the sound of the horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the city from every side and captured it. They completely destroyed everything in it – men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep, donkeys – everything.

(Leviticus 21:16-23 NLT)

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron that in all future generations, his descendants who have physical defects will not qualify to offer food to their God. No one who has a defect may come near to me, whether he is blind or lame, stunted or deformed, or has a broken foot or hand, or has a humped back or is a dwarf, or has a defective eye, or has oozing sores or scabs on his skin, or has damaged testicles. Even though he is a descendant of Aaron, his physical defects disqualify him from presenting offerings to the LORD by fire. Since he has a blemish, he may not offer food to his God. However, he may eat from the food offered to God, including the holy offerings and the most holy offerings. Yet because of his physical defect, he must never go behind the inner curtain or come near the altar, for this would desecrate my holy places. I am the LORD who makes them holy."

(Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death.

(1 Corinthians 14:33-35 NAB)

As in all the churches of the holy ones, women should keep silent in the churches, for they are not allowed to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says. But if they want to learn anything, they should ask their husbands at home. For it is improper for a woman to speak in the church.

(Luke 14:26 NAB)

If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he can not be my disciple.

(1 Samuel 19:9-10 NAB)

Then an evil spirit from the Lord came upon Saul as he was sitting in his house with spear in hand and David was playing the harp nearby. Saul tried to nail David to the wall with the spear , but David eluded Saul, so that the spear struck only the wall, and David got away safe.

(Deuteronomy 25:11-12 NLT)

If two Israelite men are fighting and the wife of one tries to rescue her husband by grabbing the testicles of the other man, her hand must be cut off without pity.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know, there's violence in the bible. You didn't post anything new, so what is the point of this thread?
