You care to explain that ? 🙂 [/B][/QUOTE] Some things may be true such us some records, some names or people that really existed in history, for example: kings
But then, there must be some things that are interpretations or legends 😖

😐

WindDancer> Philosophy, as I view it, deals with such terms as “truth” and trying to stretch the limits of what our mind is capable of. The human mind is a wondrous thing, it can IMAGINE things.
However, if an entity such as a divine being is PART of the cosmos, this presence should be measurable… The Bible is filled to the brim with stories where a divine being interferes and does things on Earth. So, this being CAN do this and is more than just a part of our mind. Unless of course the Bible is just a collection of funky stories, and this divine being is somehow not PART of this Universe. But then it cannot interact with the Universe. And this is obviously a prerequisite for any divinity – its ability to do great things in this cosmos. These actions or the consequences of these actions should be measurable.

”God is inside of us! We just can't seem to unlock that door in our minds in which God is in the other side. Yet, there is communication with God. When we use prayer and meditation there is a chance of establishing some type of bridge between God and ourselves. Just a reminder...after you read what I've just wrote remenber these are only philosophical arguments.”
Yes, I understand what you mean. What you call ”God” I might refer to as ”Self” or understanding of the self, which is difficult and thought-provoking.

”As I said earlier...how can you apply testing to a being with no physical body?”
Because this being is still considered capable of interacting with physical bodies. Of course, if we assume this being is somehow capable of cloaking its actions, is invisible to science and beyond any measurement – I’m left with the question: Why?

”Ah! But wouldn't the wooden trojan horse serve as evidence in the case?”
It would serve to back up the possibility that Homers account was indeed correct, yes. But only when it comes to the story OF a wooden trojan horse. The rest of Homers work may or may not be true …
If the archaeologists finds an arc, and it looks like the arc of the covenant it supports stories of said arc. But it doesn’t prove anything written in the Bible is true.

”So is it safe to say that God does or does NOT exists?”
Currently I think it is safe to say that God does NOT exist.

”It was exactly what I was trying to explain earlier. Until ALL the facts and research has been done we still don't have an answer.”
Ah, but innocent until proven guilty, right? I will not “believe” in aliens, flying saucers OR divine beings until I’m presented with evidence.
I don’t think this is jumping to conclusions. This is a pragmatic and common sense approach to reality (however we choose to define it). Scholars may do their research, but I cannot help but wonder why it’s taking them so long: That goes for flying saucers, aliens AND divine beings 🙂

FE> So, the Bible is the word of God because the Bible says so?

But how do you KNOW the Bible is the truth?
How do you REALLY know it IS the word of God?

“Omega, who said that there wasn't things in the bible thats not symbolic??? cuz i never did.
NO where in the bible does it tell to kill homesexals.”
You haven’t even read the book. Go to (Romans 1: 26-28), and read for yourself that it says you must kill homosexuals.

”People make mistakes, do wrong, God does not, we have the choice, free will.”
So when Abraham married his sister with God’s blessing, God blessed an incestous marriage and that is not wrong?

And because you skip/hop around answering my questions, here they are for the xth time:

“Saying if it was NOT a choice would it still be sin, hmmm well since it is a choice, Yes it is. The bible doesn't skip/hop around this, it flat tells you it's an abonimation to God.”

Try to think, please. Try to IMAGINE if it was NOT a choice to be homosexual.
Can you do that?
You’re good at imagining stuff – so TRY to imagine that homosexuality is NOT a choice.

The Bible also doesn’t skip/hop around this: If we are to take the Bible literally, then:

- Must we circumcise all boys (Genesis 17:14) or abandon them?
- Is bigamy allowed? (Starting in Genesis 4:19)?

” Omega, who said that there wasn't things in the bible thats not symbolic???”
You did!
“things in the bible are not symbolic”

Okay, answer me this:

Did Abraham commit adultery with Hagar?
Did Abraham marry his sister with God's blessing?
Did Lot allow the mob to rape his daughters?
Did Lot have sex with his daughters?

Jury> Ah, so you can’t prove the Bible is the word of God? That’s what I thought.

moi?
