Are symbiotes inherently controlling and evil?

I mean, There seem to be so many mixed messages.........

Depends on your definition of evil, really. I always figured the symbiotes' moral code is much different than that of humans. In their minds, they probably don't see anything wrong with their actions. They're just a dominant, violent species. I've always hated the notion that they're evil just for the sake of being evil, knowing their actions are bad but not caring. Now, if they're evil because it just feels natural to them, that's cool.

I'm glad, because you're helping my plans for world domination. First, the KMC forums, then the world. After that, we attack Mars. Then, we find whichever planet the symbiotes are on and mass-produce them as a line of underwear.

What about supportive undergarments?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahahaha oh that was a good one just kidding ya`.

😆

Wouldnt the undergarments...try to take over your A$$?

BAD S!
__OH, GOD...DO NOT...SEE THE LATEST "ROMERO" MOVIE.
__It's so much easier for me to say: all bad. I found/saw nothing of interest, and quite a bit that was distasteful.
__I'm here, just not too often.

I didn't know you knew I was such a fan of zombie movies...
No good, you say? How can that be?! I've REALLY been looking forward to this one, too.
Since I value your opinion so much, I won't see it in the theater, but I'll have to watch the dvd--if it's as bad as you say, a pre-halloween release is almost a guarantee.
Besides, thus far this summer, I've been fairly captivated by the new Star Wars movie--I've seen that about six times already.

Blaque--I'm on board for the domination, but do you think this world is worth the effort? Mars sounds better to me--and we'd have it all to ourselves. Then we could selectively admit only the best earthlings, and create a formidable race of super-beings. The more I think about it, the better it sounds.

Land of the Dead kicks major, major ass. I loved it. I'd definitely recommend it. If you're a big Romero fan, it's a must-see. I speak as a hardened gore-hound and total Romero fanatic.... but that's just me.

It totally blew the "Dawn" remake and both Resident Evil movies *out* of the water.

George still has it goin' on, undead-style. Trust me. 😈

__Do not trust her, Bad S! 😛 I think she's been denied quality entertainment for far too long- yes, I'm aware she's been reading my fan-fiction. Had I known it would so profoundly lower her standards, I never would have exposed her.
__Here's the most important bit of information. There are no involving charactors in this movie- just costumes, clothing, and a few conventions according to social identity or role.
__A team of two men, the lead and his partner in survival, come closest, but both are drained of nascent individuality by cliches attached to them like leeches.
__Look, there's some good to it- for example, there is one event of mass-death that is clever and tragic, but up to then, the pathos is undermined by...
__Da-dada-dah! Cannibal snuff*!!!- wherein pretty ladies are chased, grappled, their clothing disarrayed, and then squeal as they're eaten. I expect Romero films to mock that sort of stuff, not casually drop it here and there like meat to get us moving further into the movie. It was too fleeting in the separate scenes, but integral in its repetition, to be parody.
__In short, they not only critcise our American/zombie culture, they don't expect their audience to be alive- or at least they pitch to us as if we aren't.
__I actually LIKE horror movie snuff- the openly artificial flavors of yummy-skin getting consumed by the beast. However, Romero films are supposed to examine truer-to-life people, right?
__The snuff-stars in this movie are intentionally the least alive of the living-(they're numbed themselves with consumerism and vice)- but I still hoped to see them humanized with a personal realization of loss as they died. Not so. These ladies never transcend a physical presence. In effect, it's like nothing happens. A moving thing, a sexy animatron, stops moving after a final, culminant series of gyrations. Fun if it's intended as fun but does nothing to establish a sense of darkness, destruction, loss. You need realistic victims for pathos- or at least, faces in terror and pain, rather than close shots of skin.
__Over-all, only zombies in this movie and no flesh-and-blood living-people, so no conflict.

"We Are Venom!"

um...good ...fleshy...eaty......summaryiy

I must respectfully disagree!

I liked practically all the main characters! Liked the hero, liked his sidekick, Dennis Hopper was suitably hateable, the women were the obligatory cardboard-cutouts [do we expect more from any horror film? Nope].....

The premise of the movie made sense, the zombies were NOT racing around like track-stars [hate that premise!], the only really jarring note was the continual mentioning of large sums of money as being sought-after... because after the apocalypse, money is going to be *worthless*, folks. I'll grant you that was off-kilter.

Especially compared to the Dawn remake and RE #2, this was GREAT STUFF. But then I speak as someone totally bored by "Saw," unimpressed by "The Ring" and literally rocked to sleep by "Boogeyman," so you may consider my judgement impaired. 😈

[p.s. rent "Boogeyman" at your own risk. That was one of the damn stupidest things I ever saw. No joke.]

i just asked this q in the other symbiote thread but that wasn't the place so
what is the WHOLE story on the yellow symbiote

That sounds like a great movie, I will have to see it. I have always liked zombie movies. 🙂

Not to be snippy or anything, but this question about the yellow symbiote is asked OVER and OVER and OVER again.

Why not go out to eBay and buy the "Lethal Protector" arc and see for yourself? It can be had for under $10; neither rare nor expensive.

This arc is nothing spectacular IMO, the other symbiotes are created, ta-da! you see 'em, then *bang* they're dead. its not like there's any depth there, or we see a complicated origin. There are no insights. Nothing special. Have you seen the pictures that have been posted here? You've seen about all there is to see, or know.

I just don't get all this flap about it. There are other, far more compelling arcs from Venom's book that you'd enjoy way more.

then whats ur favorite venom book

I am here protesting against marvel comics!
because I am against serie toxin. perhaps why marvel did not launch a feminine version of simbiote would
be very better.
therefore I make my protest and wait that you also make it!
we more do not go to read or to buy toxin.
we go all to order email for marvel demanding that they hear its
readers and they publish she-venom or a feminine version of symbiote

Yeah bring back She-Venom and Scream! They were great.

---

In other news... my brother and I were discussing the "alien costume" saga and began wondering what would happen if a symbiote got stuck in the wash and dry would the heat and noise of the dryer hurt it? Are they "dry clean only"? Or are they self-cleaning, like cats (is THAT what that long tongue is for?) Either way we figured it would be pissed if such occured.

Official word of Freezedoom:
Youse guys ca stop ignoring me.
I've learned my lesson.
