The Official Symbiote Thread

Started by fever red240 pages

Here's a question that proves I spend too much time entirely thinking my little symthoughts- could a sym's host get drunk or would the sym detox him/her?
Gotta go write. Blaque Cell has invigorated me.

Well, yesterday afternoon, on my local news, a black bear broke into some Campers' cooler and drank about 36 Raniers. he got lit, and then passed out. When the bear "woke up" they had to lure it into a trap with, yep, you guessed it--beer. So, I suppose that a symbiote could get drunk.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA.....................HA.

I heard that story too! That's what put it in my mind!

At the risk of sounding totally bisexual, how'd you like some hot mullet loving? I can show you where to find some.
Message on a women's restroom wall: for hot mullet lovin', call Eddie at 1-800-80'S-VENOM.

Now, what's the 411 on this fiction of which YOU spoke? And why would you be sending it to Fox and not to me?

Because the two of us are writing it--so naturally, it's crude and rudimentary at best.

I wrote it twice already!!! I think you're playing a prank on me. SERIOUSLY--you never got it?

Say, Blaque Cell, I kind of anticipated Venom swinging to the rescue in SymHolocaust. Just how else could Spidey possibly get out of the frying pan? Its always V who ultimately quashes poor wittle Clete's fun. I hope you someday write more- but for now, I actually kind of like the open ending- it gives my imagination time to play more in your world.
See, Paola? I'm on topic. I am, I am.

Actually, I wanted to avoid that. I never liked it how Peter always needed Venom to save his butt whenever he fought Carnage. Also, I can think of no conceivable reason why Venom wouldn't turn right around and kill Peter afterward. As for Peter escaping his deadly situation, I actually started writing Chapter 8 earlier today, and half of the chapter is finished. He won't get out unscathed, but don't worry, he survives. Just gotta figure out how to end this chapter. Writer's block sucks.
As for getting me drunk, I prefer E&J with a blueberry blunt and some chicken wings. My creative juices always seem to flow when I injest said items.

I'll try that prescription; I'm wrestling with some editorial decisions myself. I don't have writer's block; I have editor's block.
I'm impressed that you don't intend to use Venom as the plot device, the dux ex machina (pardon, can't spell) for which Marvel employs him. You're right; he is too often the fellow jumping out of the cake, yelling, "Suprise! I'm here to save Spidey's @$$ and kick Kasady's!"
Yeah... surprise...
I hope Captain Payne survives, too. Guess it all depends on whether he put on a "red shirt" that morning.

Mom, I hear you...there are many, many things I've written that were only fun or experimental. So I assume, this is one of those "I could show you but then I'd have to kill you?" works of art?

Honestly, I think its completly logical as to why Venom comes in to the fight all the time. As well as the reasoning behind why he doesn't kill good 'ol Pete.

You must take into consideration that Venom (Brock mainly, whom has convinced the Symbiote into his believing this) believes that he is the cause to Carnage's creation. OK, lets think, what does Carnage do? Simply goes around slaughtering people for the fun of it (litterally).

Venom on the other hand, tries to protect whom he dubbs innocent. Their goals contradict one another, causing the continuous battles that they've gone through to come about. Its simply the fact that Venom hears word of another Carnage rampage/killing spree and goes out to stop it. Generally (though, there are some exceptions as always) Spidey just happens to get there first, making it appear that Venom is 'saving him'.

As for why he doesn't just kill off Spidey. Well you have to think about what time period your talking about. There could be the truce in place (refer to Amazing Spider-man #375), or Venom actually appreciates the help he received through Spider-man. Many times, Venom cannot beat Carnage on his own (purly to the fact that Carnage is stronger in almost every way) and must have aid somewhere. This is usually done through Spider-man.

Though, there are also times when both Spidey and Venom win on their own without the other's aid. Some examples would be Venom: Carnage Unleashed (for Venom obviously), in which Spidey is not even mentioned. Also, on Spidey's behalf, Ben Reilly has to battle him mentally in the story 'Web of Carnage' (Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #410, Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #67, Spectacular Spider-Man #233) as well as his battle with Carnage/Carnage Cosmic in Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #430 and #431.

Does anyone have a picture of the Venom/Wolverine combination?

These are good points, Kiekan- but in Blaque Cell's story, there simply hasn't been time for the news to travel to S.F.; and then V would have to make his way cross country- really, its just as reasonable for V not to show up until the action's already over- but NEVER do you see that in the comics.
That would be amusing.
V: "Sorry I'm late. What did I miss?"
Spidey: "The whole darn thing. He's back at Ravencroft since ten this morning."
V "Oh, dang- and now I have that long flight home."

It's on my scan list--I'll bump it up.

Nice non-partisan playing of the field, kiekan. You always know how to put it just so without generalizing everything. Good concrete examples. And I'm surprised how often people are surprised by the fact that Venom has never killed Spidey. It's like Venom always talking about how he's planning on eating everyone's brains--it's just for show--except a couple of times, when he actually did acquire a "taste" for them. He needs Spidey as both an ally AND a scapegoat.
Like the one between Brock and his "other", the relationship between Venom and Spider-man is fairly complex.

Red--I wouldn't mind showing you the story that fox goaded me into writing, but it's a work in progress--you know.

the chocolate bar was not that fun..............and where is the cletus fanfic? the page of brock shrink only have his fic

Maybe you didn't like it RJ, but you are neither female nor a Venom fan, so it wasn't written with you in mind.
If you ask Blaque Cell or Fever Red nicely, they MAY steer you toward Blaque Cell's sweet-ass Carnage story...

Hey, hey..... I don't think it was only directed toward women..... I like chocolate too. Dang.... now I wish I had some, lol. Thanks for the compliment, though.

But yeah, I thought the whole pain munching thing from Venom: The Hunger was pretty killer. My only question is... why did it take so long for the cravings to kick in? Peter wore the Simbiote for quite a lengthy time and never had the urge to gobble up someone's brains....

-shrugs- maybe he just wasn't bonded long enough, er something.....

When did Venom gain electric powers? Did he briefly join with Electro? Or is this a merely a nice piece of art that has nothing to do with any comic?
