MY GOD i have just had a brilliatn ide what if the venom symbyote went to liquid snake liquids already unhinged (but not on the same level as kassidy) one of the 3 worlds greatest soldiers bonded to venom he would be nigh unstoppable

I will have to counter you there fox, reasons being:
1. They killed the Resident Evil name.
2. They turned it into an action movie, not survival horror.
3. They made Alice (Milla Jovovich) a super-human.
4. Paul W.S. Anderson is not directing it.
5. Has nothing to do with the story of Resident Evil.
6. They changed the name from Nemesis to Apocalypse
I can continue but, this is not the place.

I beleive he is refering to the title of the movie, which was originally 'Resident Evil: Nemesis', though is now known as 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse'. It is true that the actual creature known as Nemesis is gonna be it (though, he looks a bit different..... alot shorter, lol), I don't know about any Hunters. From the trailer, it looks appears to have lots of Lickers, though.

Are the symbiotes actually called symbionts, or does it just sound like that in the 90s show?

the are called simbionts, simbiote is the fusion/action
about the licker no , they are the hunters cos they are hell fast, the previous crap movie had the licker, although i evoluted into a big dog

The proper term is symbiont, however, symbiote is used because of an error on the part of Marvel (typo). Remember, this was in the '80s, they (society) didn't know better.

They are Lickers..... notice the long tounges? Plus in the games Lickers are really fast as well. Hunters look like giant humanoid lizards. Trust me on this one, I'm a pretty hard core RE fan (beat every game except RE: Gaiden, read nearly every book, and seen the first movie at least 15 times). Oh, and don't bring up the fact that they are black/grey..... those were seen in the game RE2, in scenario B.

As for the typo, are you sure about that? Well, seem's so, as Dictionary.com points to 'symbiont' in the definition of Marvel's version. Wow, ya learn something new every day.

Yes, but "symbiote" is more than just a title--it implies the mutually beneficial relationship between the parasite and the host. That's why it stuck, and is used today.

Okay, I think I know every host Venom and Carnage have had, but I must confirm.

Venom:
Peter Parker, Eddie Brock, Ann Weying, Pike, Wolverine

Carnage:
Cletus Kasady, Ben Reilly, Silver Surfer

Yes, but nothing you can't live without knowing. You may want to add Army Communications Specialist Patricia Robertson to your Venom list--aside from a few more inconsequential assimilated victims, you got the basics here...
