the main thing here is superman could never harness the gl power
it takes INTELLIGENCE in the form of VISUALISATION as seen in artists to fully use the ring. people like green arrow would have to focus very hard just to visualise a tiny arrow correctly.
not everyone can use the ring. superman said it himself in birthright, that he's not as smart as lex, just fast in thinking.
and btw for a brute force fight all they have to do is extend the protective aura outwards. from their bodies outwards in an expanding sphere until it snags supes, then do whatever they want from there.
btw supes couldn't take on kyle NOW. he's taken out an entire fleet and world without realising it, as he's still getting used to the power.

the only time anything stole energy from the ring was in the fear itself comic were might i say kyle beat the bad guy were hal and allan could not beat it and superman could not either.
kyle beat it with a far amount of ease to.
and on a side note the thing absorbed energy so yes it could syfin off the energy of the gl ring but it was a magic being also
you also need to remember that (or let me inform you if you did not know and if their is any disbelieve just ask me for the scan)
in the jsa featuring Green Lantern Allan Scott he fought the liveing constalation (it was made of pure energy) and it did not steal energy from his ring cause it could not and as a matter a fact he had it beat untill solomen grundy attacked him from behind
so the only case of anything stealing any power from any gl ring was in the fear itself comic. however if im wrong please show the scan 🙂

um you do know a manhunter cant even use the gl power right. it has been showed and stated in the comics that they cant. i have the book and the scan of that to if you would like me to show you.
so if they can now that just seems like pis to me
