A possible explanation for kids being more rebellious is that people in general, especially the younger generation, are starting to feel apathetic towards the government, towards society, towards organized religion... Towards the establishment in general. It's like we're on the verge of another punk movement, or even something bigger.

As far as people who claim to be Christian go, here's a question for you. Would you say the same about the suicide bombers who blew up the WTC towers? Would you say that they weren't really Muslim because of what they did, even though they claimed they were?

See, FE, you're implying that people who aren't Christian don't have morals. And that deeply offends me. I, being an atheist, have a much stricter moral code than many of my Christian friends. Why? Because the bible teaches that God will forgive them and they will go to heaven, regardless of what they do. However, since I don't believe in a god or heaven or hell, my moral code is something that I made, that I set, and is based on what I know to be right and wrong. I don't drink or smoke or do drugs or party or have sex or any of the stuff that "rebellious teens" do. And it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm not Christian, it has to do with my own sense of morality and choices I made on my own.

And on the whole deal of guns being very readily available these days...what Tpt said about getting shells at Walmart is true. I was at Walmart earlier today and they had guns and ammo there that I could have easily bought.

I never ever implied that people who wasn't christians had no morals, and i'm sorry if you took it that way. What I am saying is that just cuz you say you are a christian doesnt mean you are. You can tell by the way a person acts if they are or not.

Because someone is ruling over them with an iron fist, and im not using the term lightly. My ex girlfriend is in on suicide watch in the hospital for slitting her wrists. She won't admit it now, but we know it is because of the way her mother treats her. She felt that the only way out was to die. Do you know how much it takes to make someone feel that way? I mean, what the ****.

Others who are not like my ex, choose to hurt others instead of themselves for the way they get treated, and none of it has to do with god.

Thats horrible, i'm sorry to here that. I know that alot of kids have bad lives to live, but...most of shootings haven't been that way. I feel it's a lie from Satan. he knows how to trick people and deceive them.

Back to school shootings. You don't seem like you know what causes school shootings, because what AF said was a perfect example of the kind of thing that makes kids rebel. It's all the bullshit some kids have to go through every single day of their lives, whether it be from their parents, or other kids at school. As for me, fortunately I have it pretty damn good at home, my parents care about me and despite the occasional argument we get in, there are no major problems between us. But you can't understand just how bad these things are until you've been there yourself. It's not related to god--it's just caused by society in general deteriorating...

Hey FE. You should watch Michael Moore's film documentary, Bowling For Columbine. It examines America's gun laws and gun related accidents in comparison to other countries around the world. It's very insightful, I highly recommend it. 👆
