I agree. I mean the movie is great and all but it is not the best movie of the year. But considering they were probably judging all 3, its ok. (they should have just waited for the whole thing to be over before they nominated it for best film)
It was the same has every year, no surprises. And some crappy choices:
M&C best cinematography (WHAT???!)
i agree. the third movie was put together real crappy. i mean i only watched it once and i noticed a whole lot of editing mistakes and faulty camera work. plus the story (in my opinion) butchered the book and their were too many gaps in the timline to make the end conversation about the 4 years long journey reasonable. the movie was good but not the winner...Lost in Translation, thats were my money is! thats a great artistic movie!

IMO Mystic river should have gotten both best adaptation and best film.

Well, LS Star Wars is more like Sci-Fi. LOTR is more like Fantasy. So even if Star Wars didn't win many awards in the past is still is one of the best triologies in Movie history.btw-I'm so glad PJ got an award for best director! He deserves it!
yep they were
atleast according to www.imdb.com
This is the first time since that abomination 'Gladiator' won best picture that I agreed with the decisisions.
I think LOTR definately deserved best picture, because the fact of the matter is, obviously more work and dedication went into making LOTR then any of the other movies nominated. And in 30 years, LOTR will still be famouse and have a following, much like Star Wars does today.
Well it took the most talent from all of the different departments to make a film like LOTR. The most work went into that movie. Plus the end result is one of the greatest films of our time, that will definately be remembered by everyone for years too come. Which is more then you can say about any of the other nominees.
