how come theres so much bitching about lotr winning every oscar (desrved more) and people saying it ruined the academy awards, took the suspense away, it wasnt that good a movie, maybe good but not 111 acaqdemy awars good and what about all the others movies and also that the accademy makes stupid desisions and ther stuffy and snobby so on and so forth
what about when titanic or ben won so many, wat was so good about titanic, there wasnt any fuss when it won everything. the song from that is like a song that everyeon groans and stuff when they hear it as if its the worst song in the world

uh going back to the last samurai discussion ( have not been in KMC for a LONG while)
Last Samurai wasn't that great, when i was watching it i kept thinking about the masterpiece that James Clavell wrote, "Shogun". From my point of view i think that Last samurai was a watered down version of Shogun.
Now if someone else ever makes shogun into a movie they had better do a damn good job , because its a gem of a novel ( dont tell the lotr fans, but i liked that book more than lotr)

You dont need a blockbuster for the academy to recognise your work.
He is a good actor and maybe he deserved an Oscar but in other occasion. He did not deserve to win this year.
