Just watching the promo for "The Incident"
Jack is in an assault on the Village, opening fire with a hand gun.
Now together with Richard Alpert claiming that he watched Jack Kate and Hurley die with Jinn, Im really starting think that the scene I mentioned earlier on in the year is coming round.
(The one where Ben and Annie see what looked like Sawyer and Kate running past the School room when the attack on the village was on.)

I read somewhere that people thought Jacob was complete fiction made up by Richard to have the Others do his bidding. John's intention to "kill" Jacob is to take all the Others with him on the trek to find him to prove to them he does not exist, that they have been scammed. This way they can see for themselves. It would be "killing" the myth of Jacob. I don't see how that's possible since we've all already seen that Jacob does exist as we saw him drenched in darkness in the cabin and even heard his voice. I guess the people who are thinking this missed that episode, I'm thinking it was Cabin Fever.
Hell, perhaps it's a mixture of the two. Maybe Jacob's just a regular dude trapped between real/imaginary space and time that John must help out. By doing this in front of all the Others he is showing them Jacob is just a man, not a god and is killing the myth of Jacob while helping Jacob the man free himself.
either way, should be interesting. The only time we ever saw Jacob was in the cabin with Ben and John wasn't it? After that Christian became his representative full time.

I don't think Jacob is just something made up by Alpert, like you said, we've already seen him (The Man Behind the Curtain BTW), and we will definitely see "him" and his time-traveling ass next week.
While it was surprising to hear John say that, I wouldn't believe him right away. What if Locke it's pulling a "Ben" on Ben? Why would he tell Ben, the most treacherous person he knows, his plans?
if what John said is indeed true, then he must know Ben will no longer be an obstacle.
Or maybe John still doesn't believe there's a Jacob, and he wants to "kill" him by showing he doesn't exist
I wonder though, why would Smokey tell Ben to leave Locke alone? if john is planning on killing Jacob?

that scene with Ben and Annie happens around the time Ben arrives at the island, before he meets Richard... so, before Jack travels to 77, and before he gets shot...and he is currently not with the Dharma Initiative...
I find it funny that Richard help John be were he is now, become the leader, just because he was the chosen one.... all because it was John himself who told him so... 😄
He went to see John be born, because Locke said so, he gives him those tests, he helps him kill his father, he tells him he has to die to bring them back... all because of John, not Jacob, not the Island
Maybe Richard remembers the losties dying (though I doubt he meets Jin) when the Incident happens because it is at this time when the Losties jump back to the current Timeline (after the bang, he doesn't see them anymore). Maybe Sawyer, Juliet and Kate don't have to get off the sub, since they were the ones to make the "jump" maybe they'll jump back inside the sub (kinda like they did on the plane)
One thing's for sure though, things will end with a bang (probably Jughead's bang) and it will be uncertain who dies and who lives...

EDIT: latest podcast confirms the Comic Con video is non-canon (the story was changed as the season went along), and it was indeed Faraday in it.
- There is mythological advancement in the finale
- The finale has a season 1 feel to it along with season 6
- We will get more information about John Locke and the kill Jacob scenario
- Follow the leader was the first part of the finale
- They joke that jacob is a 60ft tall flaming man
- They hint that sawyer, kate and juliet may get back to the island in a special way.. carlton jokes 'the magic box?'
- The compass is in a time loop, they refer to it as what came first, the chicken or the egg?
- The video from comic con with Faraday talking to Chang was non-canon, only the show is canon, plus they could not get to that storyline in the actual show
- Faraday was meant to stay on the island instead of going to ann arbor, in this time he was going to try convince chang about the future, instead they sent him to ann arbor because of show constraints etc
- Hurley is a good guy, so is Kate and Lapidus and Sayid maybe a bad guy
- 60ft Flaming Jacob is a good guy
- Damon says that by the end of the incident and the premier of season 6 we will have enough information to theorise well how the whole series will end, as we will get a substantial piece of information in the incident, but then carlton says at the end of season 6 is when we will have enough information.
Season Five Finale opens with a man working a loom. There is a fire in a pit in the center of the room. Later the man goes to the beach to catch a fish to cook for his meal. There is a sale boat on the horizon and another man joins him on the beach.
They come they fight they destroy the corrupt. It always ends the same.
The second man asks the first if he has any idea how much he wants to kill him. The first says yes and tells Jacob good by and that one day he will find a loophole. As he gets up to leave we see the statue in a pretty good profile.
Kate and Tom attempt to steal the lunch box in which they will eventually bury their time capsual. Hank Pays for it and makes her promise to never steal again.
Kate tells Sawyer and Juliette what Jack is planning and Sawyer tells her he wishes they hadn't come back and good for Jack.
Stuart Radzinski and Chang argue over drilling at the Swan and Radzinskie wins.
Locke and crew march on to Jacob. Ben admits to Sun that he had never met Jacob. Richard and John talk about Johns death at Ben's hands and Richard admits that he has never seen someone brought back to life and that he is the way he is because of Jacob. Richard tells John he doesn't age because of Jacob and he imagines that John is the same way. He also tells him they are going to have to deal with the ajira passengers.
The ajira passengers travel to the main island and open their box inside is something that makes Lapidus say terrific. The ajira lady incharge thinks Lapidus may be a candidate.
At a church a young boy looks on as a casket is carried out. Its Sawyer. He is writing his note. The man I thought was Hank shows up to give him a pen. It must not be Hank. Sawyer promises someone else he won't finish the letter.
Back on the sub Kate explanes what the attomic bomb going off means. Julliete makes the descision to go back and the sub also rises.
Jack and them continue their mission to take apart the bomb so they can transport the plutonium core? Jack tells richard not to give up on Locke
Ben an Locke talk about Ben not telling Richard what the real plan is and Ben admits that he is now John's boy. John Tells Ben that he is not going to kill Jacob. Ben is.
Sayiid and Nadia cross a street and the same man who approached Kate and Sawyer pulls him back to ask Directions and while he is giving them Nadia is killed by a car.
More bomb disassembling and they are now on the move with the plutonium. Richard breaks through a wall and into one of the Dharma houses. Elloise goes first and tells Jack to follow after the all clear. Richard knocks her out and tells Jack he is on his own. He is protecting their leader.
Jack and Sayiid put on Dharma jumpsuits in an attempt to leave. Rodger Linus shoots Sayiid and a fire fight insues. Hurley to the rescue in a Blue van once again.

Also, the show the complete statue. From behind but complete. It looked like Anubis to me.
The sub goes back down and Kate Sawyer and Juliette paddle back in a rubber raft. Kate tells Juliette thanks and while Sawyer says he doesn't know where their are. Vincent Rose and Bernard come running out of the brush and bernard looks like moses.
Jack Hurley and Sayiid and Miles head for the swan.
Bernard and Rose are retired on the beach Bernard and Rose don't care as long as they are together. Kate Sawyer and Juliette head off for the barraks.
The Shadow people have to show the box to some people to show them who their up against and the Shadow people promise they are the good guys. They reach Jacobs cabin and notice an disturbance of the ash.
Head Shadow girl is visited by richard 2pointoh and asks Alana to help him. Her face is coverd in bandages.
She enters the shack and pulls out a machette from the wall. They are not looking for Jacob They must work for the other God. They head for the statue after burning the cabin to the ground.
Once again Richard 2.oh is reading a book on a bench when john gets pushed out the window. He heals John. and promises everything will be all right and that he is sorry for what happened.
John tells the others to rest up they are going to need it. Ben and John talk and John points out the hatch door. Ben tells John he was talking to an empty chair but he was surprised when the cabin went nuts. He lied because he was embarrased and that's what he does.
John wants Ben to kill Jacob because despite his loyalty he was banished and why wouldn't he want to kill Jacob. Sun finds Charley's Drive Shaft ring and remembers her wedding to Jinn.
Richard 2.oh is in attendance at the wedding. He speaks to them in their native language. Neither of them knows him but his korean is excellent.
Jack Hurley Miles and Sayiid are traveling towards the Swan and only Sawyer Kate and Juliette stand in their path. Litterally. End of Part One
Lost Season Finale Part Two Locke and the Others head march on to the cabin and Locke gets his first site of the Foot. Where Jacob lives.
Jack is operating on someone while his nurse looks on. It is the surgery he mentions in the first episode. He counts to five on Christians orders and completes the surgery. At the vending machine while attempting to get an apollo bar he recieves the good news that the girl is healthy and he and his father have words.
Richard 2.0 hands Jack his apollo bar (there goes that short lived theory)
Sawyer and Jack have their talk. Sawyer tells jack about his fokes. it was a year ago according to the timeline and Sawyer didn't stop it because what is done is done. After their heart to heart Jack walks away and Sawyer slugs him its Jack verses Sawyer like we have never seen before. Rumble in the Jungle. Sawyer is beating Jack to a pulp and Juliette tells him Jack is right and that she changed her mind.
Juliette as a little girl her and her sister are informed of their parents divorce. She doesn't want to understand about why two people who love can't be together.
Juliette changed her mind when James looked at Kate. If she never meets Sawyer then she never loses him.
Radzinskie and Chang get close to reaching the pocket and get warned about the upcoming attack. The pocket is about to be breached and Jack and Kate agree to blow up the island.
I thought for a second that Christian was richard 2.0 and but then of course Christian is much older.
I was wrong. Sun finds Charley's Dexter Stratten ring.
Hurley is released from the Jail shortly after "killing" the people after him an Sayiid. He is let out and in the cab is Richard 2.0. Richard 2.0 has the guitar case. He's not dead he wants to know why Hugo won't go back to the island. Hugo thinks he is cursed and that is why everyone dies. Richard 2.0 promises him that he isn't cursed and crazy and give him the flight info. He leaves him with the guitar.
Hurley promises Sayiid that jack will change the future or the past. The bomb is rigged to blow on impact and tells Jack to get it as close to the pocket as possible. Jack head off with gun and bomb and Sawyer and Juliette let him pass.
Locke stares at the foot. He is tired of waiting he wants to see Jacob. Ben tells Sun that the statue was gone when he got there and Richard tells John only the leader can request an audience with Jacob. He moves a wall and tells John to tell Jacob he says hello. They walk in and Ben hesitates. Locke promises Ben things will change when Jacob is gone.
