Dude, that episode was great!! It seems like the island is Paradise, Jacob is the good, and the other guy is the bad, and they're fighting for the soul of man. Like God versus Satan.

Garden of eden = the island

Maybe. But why would it be OK for people to die on the island, even get buried alive?! I still don't get it.

evil

Well with characters like Ben Linus doing some eveil shit in the name of greater good, you would be forgiven for thinking that maybe they will be blurring outside the boundries of the mythos any one religion.

And lets not forget the science prescence of the show.

Until given a proper name, I'm going to call Possessed evil locke "Majin Locke" stoned

ANd why did jack lie about saving that one girl?

Okay I may of missed something but how did he lie? I thought he saved the girl in the flashback. Sure his dad told him to count to ten but did he not still save her?

thought he left while his dad saved her?

Hmmmm. Thats a good one. I'll have to look into any conflicting events.

Naw it was all Jack after Christian told him to count to five.

then why was jack being a ***** if he did it?

his father helped him out

Yeah he saved her. His dad said that if he wasn't able to then he would but Jack pulled through after counting to five.

He was being a ***** because his Dad "embarassed" him in from of the other surgeons, and because he felt that it was bad enough being accused of only having the job because he was Christians son without having to give into his embarassment infront of his peers.

Because Jack has a hard time believing in himself.

ah good, otherwise i was about to bail on jack

the season 5 finale with Jacob and his unnamed buddy remind me of Star Trek : TNG.

If you somehow missed Encounter at Farpoint (1st episode) or All Good Things (last episode), turns out the entire series was basicly mankind being on trial. Q thought mankind was an infantile, destructive race and should be wiped out of existence. Picard defended mankind saying that while they may have been those things in the past, they are improving themselves....progressing...and should be given the right to see how the species ends up.

reminds me a lot of what's going on in Lostland. Seems Jacob is Picard, advocating humans.....believe they are worth saving or atleast deserving of the chance to show they are progressing and the un-named guy is Q. He thinks mankind is a waste and has no place. Looks like Jacob may have been guiding his crew (just as Picard did for 7 seasons) showing humans can change and better themselves.

And the disembodied whispers reflect that episode of TNG where that cave had those beings all out of phase with us by a microsecond or two.

you might be on to something

Sounds good to me. always like the interaction between Picard and Q., especially the shows finale. Still one of my favorite finales of any show.

all we need is a John De Lancie cameo in season 6. That would automaticly make that episode the most awesome hour of television ever aired.
