at the time I watched it, I took it as if this kid was a notch higher than Jacob or Smoky either one. If there's a game afoot between Jacob and Smoky, the kid's the one overseeing.....the official. I'm guessing in all the hierarchy on the island, he's king shit.
Smoky seemed to be shaken up a bit by seeing him. He was surprised to hear that Sawyer could see him aswell.

the psychic may know of the baby's pivotal role
he says he saw something blurry lol and that is why he didn't give her a reading the first time
he says " danger surrounds the baby" & taht claire's goodness must be an influence on the baby
and he may have known about oceanic 815 and intentionally sent her so baby woudl be born on island ??

That is what he did, Charlie even said it to Claire "What if the Psychic knew the plane would crash" He said that when they were in the middle of the jungle doing something.
