Actually, Swanky, Colossus has no known limit as to how long he can stay in his transformed state. He does not fatigue when using it. It doesn't tire him at all. The longest he has been known to stay in metal form is FIVE whole days. And that's just cuz he wanted to. He can in theory stay in this state for as long as he wants. It doesn't even go away when he sleeps, for he must mentally will himself to transform back to normal. So he could really just kinda ride the lava flow for awhile until one of his fellow teammates figures out a way to find him. Xavier could find him and tell Jean where he is. She could fly down there, protected with her telekinesis and then lift both herself and him back to the surface.
Dizzle, you make a very good point there. Xavier could easily locate the whereabouts of the ring. And, not trying to start an argument with you, Kontraz, but I don't think Quicksilver would take it. I've been a huge fan of him as long as I can remember, he's my very favorite X-men character. He's really not a power-hungry kinda guy. He knows that he's not responsible to lead or to control a land or country of people. I think that he would return it quickly or destroy as quickly as he could, just making the X-men win the fight even faster. Xavier could tell him where the ring is and there where he must go to destroy it. Quicksilver would get it all done is less than a minute depending on where the ring is located.
This battle would truly be awesome. I would sell my family to see it happen in a massive comic book.

Or maybe even jump. It hasn't been shown before, I don't see why Colossus couldn't jump uber far. The Hulk does it and is super strong, so why can't the super strong Colossus do it, too?

No idea if a Wraith blade would affect Colossus or Juggernaut... They're not lightsaberian or anything, normal metal stops em, so I'm saying no.

New Sun, God Like Cable, Rachel Summers? Are these guys disqualified?
Anyways, Colossus is, if nothing else, going down from the Witch King. He blew open MITHRIL gates, organic steel just doesn't compare. Wolverine is dead as soon as a troll pick him up and twists his body in half and starts eating him.
I like that Lord Ryugen good point... anyway Nataku maybe your right but almost every reference i have gone too it has said orcs are weakened by sunlight and thats what i got from reading the books too, but to each their own, no heat.
Just one question if they are agitated by sunlight doesnt that effect them in combat?

It's the same as if someone was spraying you in the back of the head with a hose. It's not going to really hurt you or hinder you, its just going to make you uncomfortable and piss you off really badly.
As for the mind control, you're completely wrong. The ring will easily dominate any of the X-men, this isn't telepathy, it's your own greed magnified by thousands.
As the Wraith's swords bounce off of steel swords, I'd say they'd do the same to Colossus. And give the dude more credit. Mithril's freaking strong, but being able to lift 100+ tons is quite a feat. The big Russian machine can hold his own with Er Murzor (i think that's it) for a while. And Juggernaut (even the current one) is above 100 tons... I think the Witch King, even breaking open mithril, can't be all that far above them, especially if he gets double teamed.
This whole thing hinges around if the X Men know about the ring... Cuz if Xavier was lookin for it, then they must. So he could get Quicksilver to run to the Shire, pick up a hobbit, bring him to the ring, have the hobbit take it, then run back to Mordor and chuck the ring in Mt. Doom.
It took Frodo a long time to get seduced by the ring, I'm pretty sure Quicksilver could make that trip pretty fast, at least fast enough that all of the X Men won't be dead yet...
And no one answered my "take out the ground under Barad Dur" theory yet....
I read in the Tolkien society that not only are they weakened but that their vision is also impaired as well, and that has to affect their combat skills... why would Sauron create a dark cloud over the battlefield if it didnt assist his soldiers in some way, and dont tell me simply for intimidation.
