Well you can see both a bone and a skeleton can't you, but you can't see an atom because its purely theoretical and that smack on the head is well deserved. All I was saying is that an atom cannot been seen or felt but society does not doubt it's existence so, I think the same premise can be applied to belief in God since he can't be seen or felt. But, you seem to like ad hominems, (attacking the person rather than focusing on the issue).

For the last time... Buddhism is NOT a religion. Buddhists do NOT believe in god. Buddhism is a philosophy and way of living--I am both atheist and Buddhist.

ATOMS CAN BE SEEN THROUGH ELECTRON MICROSCOPES.
End of story.
No it's not. Have you ever seen a picture of an atom??? I doubt it. I've repeatedly asked to see a picture of one but I haven't. Since your the visionary and literate one please show a me picture. Guide me oh great and mighty goddess (sarcasm).
Yeah. It's been said in this thread many many times. They are too small and too fragile to photograph. HOWEVER, they can be viewed through an electron microscope. Have I myself seen one? No, because my high school did not have an electron microscope. But is there proof they exist? Yes. If you were arguing about quarks not existing that'd be one thing. But ATOMS?
I repeat myself, have you EVER taken any sort of science class?

Yes I have. I'm familiar with atoms, electrons, nuetrons, protons and subatomic particles like quarks and the four quark quadrants. I took many chemistry courses and did fairly well in them all so I have an understanding of atoms. I just didn't swallow all the scientific dogma these classes propagated, just as if you had to take a course in religion and refused to accpet the dogma it emananted. All I'm saying is if you as an atheist refuse to believe something you can't see with the naked eye or a special tool why can't you believe in God? I mean what have you got to lose??? If you're right we all die and our existence ceases bam!!! you win.
We CAN see atoms 'with a special tool' as you put it, it's called an electron microscope. As has been stated many times.
There is plenty of evidence and proof that shows that atoms exist. What is there to show God's existence? Nothing. As I said before, I USED to be a religious person, I was raised Catholic. But I questioned everything I learned in church and CCD classes and the Bible and no one could answer my questions. I don't just blindly believe in things.

I didn't say that. I said if atheists can except science with its many dynamic theories, many of which are discredited over time, they can apply that same logic to God which requires faith as science does.

Because there's evidence for atoms; unlike for God.

Good old Pascal. What would we do without him?
Maybe God is a crotchety old man who will let everybody into Heaven except Christians; them, He'll torture for eternity (after two millenium of listening to whiny prayers, you see, he's finally lost his patience). Convert to Atheism NOW or suffer the consequences!
Maybe God exists, but he's not a Christian god. Everybody who doesn't worship him will burn for eternity, but the people who dared worship the wrong gods (like the Christian one) are punished even worse.
On a more serious note ... wouldn't God know if I'm only worshipping him on the off-chance that it will get me into Heaven? Don't you think that sort of cynical behavior might upset him more than atheism?
Edited to say, in response to an above comment: We accept scientific theories conditionally--when the evidence mounts against them, we dump them. Christians want us to believe in God no matter what, with no regard for what there's actually evidence for--"God works in mysterous ways," and all that jazz; it's an important difference.
