Imagine it.

Vulture fought Spiderman in a thunderstorm, round the top of the chrysler building in the sp1 game, that was cool.

LOL! Hardly the same thing 😉

And just to compare the unveiling pics of each villain:

Now you see why the other two are much better?? Especially Ock's one. Sandman's is just meh 🙁

Yeah Electro is cool. This has probably been discussed on previous pages but isnt Topher Grace cast in the movie? He would be a pretty solid choice for Electro. Sorry if im rehashing old debates.

Topher Grace is in the cast, and he probably would make a decent Electro. Not my first choice but he's not a BAD choice for Electro.

But get this, alot of people want Topher Grace for Venom 😱 🙄

Sandman isnt the main villain though, he'll probably represent some conflict peter has...subconsciencely

😆 I see your point when you put them like that. Hopefully they will release a more action packed poster of Sandman to stand up to the previous villains.

You and me both mate.

I'm not a huge Venom fan by any means, but I don't want to see him destroyed on screen like that.

hungry Venom fans have grown to love the Topher idea. no matter how crappy of an actor he is. It's like a home-less man found a warehouse full of cash, but settles for a half eaten rotten sandwich instead.

I just cant see how little Topher could play Venom, are there any real rumours on this or are people just coming up with random shit.

Hungry 'Venom fans' will choke on a Topher sandwich when they see that pint sized shrimp trying to pull off Eddie Brock.

Kirsten Dunst supposedly let slip Venom was in it.

But then she said Lizard and Black Cat were in SM-2 and look how that turned out.

She's as reliable as the weather.

i think the Topher venom rumour is as stupid as the Keaton joker rumour.

I hope you're both right.

So, people would not understand Ock surviving fusion accident, v.2 but had no problem with Darth Vader's reappearance after a fatal Tie-fighter spin-out into the depths of space...? After all, Vader "died" in that did he not? And I could cite 50 horror-movie examples where people have reappeared after death, but we won't go there.

After all, many fans have knowledge of the books, and know about Ock and his survival of the unlikeliest events. But onscreen, this would be an unfathomable concept? Okay.

Yes, Raimi did say that Ock was still alive.

And my point with all that was, if DEAD GUYS are making reappearances, how is it so impossible to see a live one reappear? Are you saying people saw Norman in 2 and were confused because he was dead?

Head dingbat [well, after Freezedoom]: "Do you think they will squeeze in the REAL manspider. I mean big fuzzy 8 limbbed spidey. I'd kill to see that. MJ running around screaming....classic. Who agrees?"

Logan: "If they did, I would literally kill someone at Marvel Films, preferrably the head muckety muck, Avi Arad."

Logan, you were conversing with one of the most empty-headed denizens of this entire forum - pay her no mind, she has the IQ of the average sea-slug and makes such incredibly stupid statements on a regular basis.

That said, I got nothing against Mysterio 🙂

Thanks for the reassurance darlin'. 🙂

I don't think it would make sense at all to bring Movie!Ock back. If they had used the real Dr. Octopus, then he'd have escaped as a fugitive, on bad terms with Spider-Man and with no knowledge of Spidey's identity. Having him return would make all the sense in the world and wouldn't be at all awkward. The character Raimi and friends decided to show us shouldn't have been in a Spider-Man film in the first place, much less be brought back after that shameful display of poor writing and plotting.

Then again, I'm looking at it from the point of view of someone who expects quality out of these people. That is no longer the case for me. The more spectacular the failure, the more people will realize the truth, which is why I was pleased at the prospect of Topher Grace playing Venom. What kind of moron would think that was a good idea?? Well, with Topher as Venom, we'd know at least a certain portion of the people who claim to be Spider-Man fans were, in fact, not.

I think Mysterio is cooler than Electro. On-screen he can make all these illusions and holograms and show off hollywoods current special effects/cgi. Topher could pull off a Mysterio like the one in the sp2 game. Since Topher's voice is so dull and plain, they could edit it for mysterio. Although electro's cool too.
-for the Ock thing, i didnt know raimi said Ock isnt dead. Although he directed the scene in a way that it appears Ock has died.

Topher Grace shouldn't be Mysterio, either. He shouldn't be any villain. Many of Spider-Man's villains are middle-aged men (Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, etc.) and Quentin Beck is supposed to be as well. I suppose that since younger and younger people are becoming directors, Grace could fit that profile, and certainly in the capacity of a stunt double. Still, I'd prefer to leave him out completely, if it were my call and I was making a real Spider-Man movie instead of the weak farce we've been getting. Raimi & Friends have made some great casting picks (even though they wasted most of their talent), but Topher Grace isn't one of them, regardless of who is chosen.

He's definitely the most accurate. No question there.

But cool looking?? When you compare him to Goblin flying in the air on his glider,or Ock standing masterfully on the clock tower with his tentacles snaking around him,and then you have Sandman......just a guy in a green striped shirt standing in the street.

I guess I'm harder to impress 😉

Come on, Ock. Movie!Goblin looked like a joke for most of his scenes. The Sandman can look plenty impressive if he's doing something impressive. They simply gave the bare minimum that would confirm a few rumors.

At some point after that post, you showed the promo pics for Movie!Goblin and Movie!Ock as a comparison to the Sandman pic. That Goblin picture isn't the first that was shown. The first was the one of Movie!Goblin standing on his glider outside the hole in May Parker's wall. When I saw that, I thought it was a joke and that it wasn't even a movie character, but rather an action figure or doll of another franchise. Silly me for giving them the benefit of the doubt. when they give us a Sandman promo pic, it'll be all glossy and fake-looking just like the others, and probably will feature some sand-morph effects that will impress the easily impressed and make them think this is the real Sandman instead of the third bastardized villain of the franchise. I can't wait to see how they've tied his backstory into Peter Parker's and turned a B-grade villain into a D-grade anti-hero. At least if they made the Sandman turn "good" at the end, it would be marginally faithful, since he did become a hero eventually in the comics. But no, they had to pull that nonsense with Movie!Ock and take away any credibility that plot device could ever have in future movies.

The Vulture would easily be one of the most visually impressive villains to use in a Spider-Man movie in terms of action scenes.

In the Spider-Man franchise write-up I posted at the Superhero Hype forums, I had the Vulture as a side villain in the first movie and I honestly think that even as a cameo fight he'd be amazing. If they did it right, he'd be a hell of a lot more impressive than the Movie!Goblin.

young Vulture or old Vulture verison? or the old verison that can make himself young for a while verison?

lol...thats alot of versions......I cant wait to see Sandman fight, They can make sand look great in CGI, take the movie mummy for instance, and that was made a while ago, and special effects should look alot better now. Im sure the fight scenes between spidey and sandman will be amazing..even tho his picture looks kinda boring, its not showing his powers. I dont think they should do a villain with electric abilities because, just from past movie experieces, lightning doesnt look very good in CGI, and ussually when someone gets electricuted it looks funny...Take Doc for instance, when he was shocked it was pretty funny lookin, but the electricity wasnt very impressive looking at all..Just my opinion, you may think differently....
