I know what you're saying.
I like my villains done right.Not rushed.Decent origins,good fights,interesting plots etc.And I am so glad Ock and GG each got a movie to themselves.They deserve it.They are Spider-Man's biggest villains.
Now we have SM-3,and Sandman is here.He certainly doesn't deserve a movie to himself,so I have no problem with him being in there.
Harry has been building up over the last two movies,and is now ready to become GG2.So he doesn't need any huge explanation in SM-3.Just show us how he becomes the Goblin,hopefully getting a new costume etc.
Now for Topher Grace.If he is playing a villain,and if he is playing Venom,do you guys think he'll get a decent story?? You think they're going to show Eddie Brock developing a hatred of Spider-Man?? The symbiote coming from space?? Spider-Man wearing the black costume,and then it bonding with Brock??
Of course not.Especially with this movie supposedly focusing more on Peter.
So what's my point?? If Venom is in here,he will be horribly rushed.Like I said I like the villains done right.And Venom could not be done right like this.

I agree. Harry has been built up too much. It is time. Venom has not had one thing mentioned about him. "Eddie has been on it for weeks" O wow, Venom is in 3. Whatever. I love Venom, I want to see him done right, not messed up like he will be if he is in 3 and played by a guy I could probably beat up. (Maybe.. lol) I love Harry's story so Raimi better not mess it up.

I just don't want to see Sandman and GG2. As Ock and I have stated a bunch of times, Sandman just isn't cool enough. Also, GG2 is just like, why don't I go watch SM1 while I'm at it? Norman's always been the better Green Goblin anyway.
If Topher is playing Max, and its Sandman, Electro, and GG2, or just Sandman and Electro, it'll be better...but if its, as I mentioned before, "sand freak" and "oh yeah...that's...nothing new..." I'm gonna want to puke in disappointment and embarrassment towards Raimi having let the third one fall from the height of the first two.

See this is why I fight the notion of Topher being Venom with every fibre of my being.It's not that I dislike Venom,it's that I dislike the idea of Topher Grace being Venom,and being rushed in with Harry and Sandman.

Well Harry is a different Goblin in that his motivations are different.Also he's not really evil.Just confused and angry.
And hopefully his costume will be better.Dafoe's costume sucked.

I have always liked Harry as Green Goblin better than Norman. I can't wait, my favorite villain, Green Goblin 2. Well I hope he is done right. I think he is a good bit different than Norman as GG. As for Electro, I think that is who Topher is playing. Didn't Raimi say his first 3 villains would be Ock, Electro, and Green Goblin? I swear he said that.. Anyway I would love for it to be those three. They actually might be able to pull it off.
Doc Ock.... i disagree. I think venom can still be done right no matter who plays him. I agree that topher isnt the ideal (or even close to ideal) person for the part, but in the costume he will look cool and appropriately huge etc... Basically the only way to do this right is to introduce topher (or whoever plays brock) toward the beginning of the movie. Meanwhile, spideys fighting sandman and GG2. Maybe he even gets the black costume which gives him the power necessary to destroy both foes. (They can use the animated series origin... the symbiote comes from outer space on the same shuttle jonah jameson's son is on...) Througout the movie, Brock is given plenty of reasons to hate peter/spiderman, and at the end when peter finally rejects the symbiote, brock gets it and we have a setup for spidey 4 fully devoted to venom beign done right. Who knows... maybe by then topher will have had 2 years to gain 100 lbs of muscle and look the part too 😉. i dunno... just a suggestion of how i see it being done IF venom even is planned

Well I would agree that could happen,if someone else was directing this movie,if it was 3 hours long,and we haven't been told there is more focus on Peter this time out.
Not to mention they have said they're not even talking about SM-4 yet.So I don't think anything will be set up for part 4.I have an interview about that.I'll post it later.
Raimi and his all about the girl BS takes up over half the damn movie!!!!
well obviously brock in costume would have to be cgi... i didnt think i had to be that specific haha... and who knows? mayeb the movie will be 3 hours long... spiderman 2 went well over 2 hours... whats a few more minutes? i agree about the MJ stuff tho... maybe it would be justified to give Mary Jane this much screen time if she was at least good looking- Kirstin Dunst is very wrong for the part ( and thats being nice)

Well I'm not so nice........Dunst SUCKS as MJ.Horrible in the role she is.Recast her please Sam.MJ is supposed to be a hot super model for crying out loud.
I would love Spider-Man 3 to be 3 hours.But I really doubt it will be.This isn't Lord of the Rings,the Godfather movies or King Kong.It's a super hero movie.
And SM-2 was actually 2 hours and 2 minutes according to my DVD cover here.
yea regarding MJ... in the comics, cartoons... everything she was always a babe. A supermodel, beautiful actress etc. She looked decent in spiderman 1 (not hot, but good lookin enough to not bother me) but there were some escenes in SM2 where she just looked plain hideous- terrible casting shoice. And yes, i would also love for SM3 to be 3 hours long. As long as its well done make it 4 and ill still watch it 🙂
