Passive is because it wasn't conceived with the others. Fiddle is because Maynard is heavily influenced by Joni Mitchell anyway.

According to Trent it was only sounding 'good' when it should have sounded great, considering the sum of the parts.

Then again, Trent called With Teeth a "****ing good album". So his perception of what's good is questionable now.
