A Perfect Circle

I was going to download it, but I couldn't bring myself to. For once I wanted to wait until I actually had the CD in my hands. I only actually listened to the first 30 seconds of Imagine when it was on their website.

To tell the truth, I'm actually a little disappointed by it so far. Every song sounds like The Noose off of Thirteenth Step. Great song, but I can see it getting dull. I'm on track 5 right now, fingers crossed it gets better.

Wow, 'Passive' is great. I was worried there weren't going to be any heavy tracks at all.

Ok, Emotive isn't as good as Mer De Noms and frankly, Thirteenth Step shits allover it. A couple of really really good songs, but a couple which just don't go anywhere. It's quite creepy though, which is good.

Sorry for the running commentary 😕

The only music I never ever wanna hear anything of before I get the CD is Tool. Otherwise I'll try to seek SOME of it out.

Really? 😬 well, I don't have the money to buy it today or anytime this week anyway...

I've got Mer De Noms, and they've done some good songs but they're defiantly not my favourite band.

It's a covers album with one new song and a semi-new song. What you hear is what you'll get basically.

I don't doubt their next full-length album will rule. Not to mention that they will be around longer than Tool and Maynard will eventually be able to concentrate all his material on the band.

I'm sure it will, but I highly doubt that they'll ever produce anything as ridiculously good as Thirteenth Step again. Or at least not until Tool comes to an end, which, god willing, won't happen for a quite while.

I give Tool one, at max two more albums.

I have Thirteenth Step.. it's one of my favorite albums. And I like the songs 3 Libra's, The Hollow, and Judith from Mer De Noms.

As much as I hate to say it, I can only see Tool dropping one more record.

Good songs, but the best song on Mer De Noms by far is Rose. The middle-eastern style guitars are wonderful. Almost reminds of Sepultura.

I haven't heard that one, I'll have to try it out.

My favorite off Mer De Noms is still 3 Libras... But they all kick ass. In a nice, subtle, funky-tuning kind of way.

didn´t anybody notice that passive form eMOTIVe is one song from the tapeworm project?

some time ago a perfect circle played live one song from tapeworm project called vacant. passive is the same song, with some changes off course.

the album is great, covers from john lennon, led zeppelin, depeche mode, black flag, elvis costelo, marvin gaye, etc. what can i say more?

"didn´t anybody notice that passive form eMOTIVe is one song from the tapeworm project?"

Anyone who follows the band/bands involved knew this I should think.

The album was just put together because Maynard wanted to do one reflecting his opinion on war and the "war" now. It was a contract breaker from Virgin Records America, so they've basically fulfilled their album deal. Unless they sign a new one, don't expect any more A Perfect Circle.

it seems that when the levee breaks its not an original song from led zeppelin like i tough.

led zeppelin also covered the song. it seems that it is from memphis minnie.

Love

"led zeppelin also covered the song. it seems that it is from memphis minnie."

Not seemed, is. They made it famous is all.

just a few comments -

you guys think apc will outlive tool? I cant really see that happening....billy said there are no plans for them reforming yet (if ever) and if they do, he doesnt know who will be doing what in the line up (including maynard) and the other guys seem to have already found other things to do...but i would love to see them get back together the current line up is really something.

-eMotive is still growing on me-

I thought APC would outlive Tool if both were together. Being that APC have split prematurely for Record Company reasons, Tool are obviously infront.

If they were both together, APC no doubt would outlive Tool. I think Tool (due to their rate at putting out albums) will only last AT BEST, two more including the upcoming album.

I'd like to see James Iha leave and Danny Lohner take his place, then he can go back with Billy Corgan, Darcy Wretsky and Jimmy Chamberlain to reform The Smashing Pumpkins.

Buuuuut that will never happen so I guess we're screwed. It sucks but APC gave us two awesome albums and one very good, for what it essentially is. There's a DVD coming out too so we're not starved for material.

Besides, if this does prolong the lifespan of Tool being that Maynard now only has one band, I'm all for that.
