why not. dbz chars are very strong physically also. i rly dont wanna get into calculations and such, the point is they are physically strong, ki isnt the only thing they ever talk about
Also when Gokou goes USSJ2 Gohan thinks Gokou can beat Cell because of his power but Gokou knows the limitation of speed.
There is one important factor to considerate, Toriyama made Goku a fighter, not a Superhero like in DC or Marvel, if he made Goku lifting and solving cases, then all originality will go away, Goku like Sun Wukung get stronger in their respective Universe.
To Understant how powerfull they are in DBZ one have to know about Dragon ball, then you see the vision of toriyama and how powerfull the Z fighters are.

Mostly people just watch DBZ, so there is all about Ki, but watching DB can really make you see how powerfull they are, that is why Toriyama maybe didn´t use strength Feats, just energy output, Goku first scene is lifting a car and getting hit by bullets and he say to Bulma, " Do you think little outchies like that can hurt me?

you do realize a car is 2 tons about correct? they regress in dbz, and i mean that they should be much stronger than they were shown in dbz. hell goku struggles with mountains sometimes and other he could probably chuck the planet. im exxagerrating slightly of course but you catch my drift yes? unfortunatly i think toriyama overlooked that.
