Also, Goku revealed that he was not truly tired, he wanted Gohan to observe Cell's techniques. Every point you all make about Goku being a bad father has been fathered. Vegeta, on the other hand punched his own son Mirai Trunks in the stomach when he tried to warn him about the cyborgs & punched Chibi Trunks superhard in the face. Has Goku ever done something like that to his son? Not at all.

That makes it even worse 😄

I know you're joking but it doesn't make it worse. Although Goku was fighting as full strength, he probably could've went on a bit longer. I'm sure he just wanted Gohan to beat Cell to prepare him to become the protector of the Earth & because he knew Gohan had the hidden power that would allow him to kill Cell.

That makes sense.

If Goku wasn't tired, then how come he got owned by Cell Jr's

Probably because they were more powerful than him.

I made a typo. I meant to say that he could've still fought Cell if he had taken a senzu bean. He started to eat one but Cell snatched them before he could do that. Goku was just about to start fighting Cell again after he began owning Gohan but there was nothing he could do after the senzu beans were stolen.

Future Trunks was an adult at the time and he wasn't sending him to do something he didn't want to begin with. Chibi Trunks was a reaction because he was hit and he was surprised because he didn't really mean to. None of that makes Vegeta a worse father than Gokou. Gohan was still just a boy who didn't want to fight but was forced to by his father. And still Gokou gave Cell a senzu bean to fight his son at full power.

Dude, Vegeta put the whole Earth at risk, INCLUDING HIS SON BY RELEASING THE ANDROIDS. Goku did not MAKE Gohan fight, he wanted him to fight, he didn't yell & scream at him, he asked him, there's a difference. Goku is a much better father.

And Gokou didn't put the Earth at risk when he let Buu live just to let Goten and Trunks do something? At least Vegeta couldn't beat Perfect Cell and let him live. Though it was also Trunks' fault that Cell became perfect. He was stronger than his father and second-form Cell and he didn't stop it by slapping aside his father and destroying Cell. The androids weren't his fault. And Gokou quit and gave Cell a senzu bean just because he thought Gohan had the power. He put the whole world at risk also on a hunch that Gohan had the power.

It wasn't Vegeta's fault? A hunch? Seriously, Vegeta was so arrogant & had so much pride that he couldn't just settle for destroying the cyborgs before they were to be activated. As for that "hunch", I suggest you re-read the manga. Gohan helped in Raditz' defeat & even helped in the fight against both Vegeta & Freeza. Goku didn't have a "hunch", he was dead on.

Having hidden power and being able to ascend from SSJ to SSJ2 because of his anger are different. He assumed Gohan would achieve the next level sure but doesn't mean it was going to be true, and it wouldn't have been if Cell wasn't so arrogant and hadn't just killed him. And didn't the androids activate before they got there? And Vegeta didn't have the energy to kill Gero the same time he killed 19.

Gohan was more than capable of fighting Cell on an even level, it was his own fault he got pounded into the ground because he didn't want to fight because the Cell Games were "useless". Goku knew what would happen like a lot of times & he was correct so that just means his methods worked. Also, Vegeta ate a senzu when he went after Gero, he could've beaten him. As for the cyborgs, the point was that he was going to put the whole world at risk just to satisfy his own selfish need to have a good fight.

And who fought Gero afterwards? Wasn't it Piccolo? And didn't Piccolo tell them not to interfere? And he still escaped from them all. And Gohan wasn't stronger than Cell until Cell made him angry. Cell's arrogance made Gohan stronger. Vegeta at least was beaten up without any hope of winning. Gokou was on nearly equal footing with Cell and quit. That still doesn't excuse what he did with Fat Buu either. He still endangered everybody on a hunch that Gotenks would be stronger than him and would beat Fat Buu even though he could have done it easily.

Dude, Gero only escaped due to Bulma who caused a distraction. Btw, Piccolo said he wanted to face Gero alone & if he got past him everyone could finish him off instead. Piccolo was in the midst of killing Gero when Bulma flew by. He didn't do anything on a hunch. As I've said earlier, Goku has always been right with these things, it wasn't a hunch, he's not a bad father, & just get over it. I've proven everything wrong that you've said with facts from the manga.

By conventional standards, Goku is a terrible father

correct. by dbz standards perhaps good father.

No, Grandpa gohan was a good sort-of father

yeah. thats true. i think goku was a good dad until that point. at the cell saga he just basically said kill my son

Then how are the androids Vegeta's fault? And Gokou was only right because Cell decided to let Gohan get angry. Cell could have just killed Gohan and got it over with but Cell was arrogant. And just because he was right that Gohan could win doesn't make him any worse of a father.
