Goku couldn't kill Cell, he was spent by the end of the fight, hence him getting his ass kicked by Cell Jr.s

Gokou didn't have the energy to completely obliterate every piece of him. That is why I don't think he could win. But fighting as long as he could, wearing down Cell, would have been better. Gohan may not have actually needed to go beyond super saiyan if Gokou had tired out Cell at the least. What I don't get it why Vegeta didn't go the staying super saiyan thing for the year he trained in the Spirit and Time Room when he realized what they did and why they did it.

Not to mention Goku also felt the need to give Cell Senzu Beans before having him wail on his prepubescant son. What a dick.

Not really. He was getting Gohan ready for being the protector of Earth. He's not a dick, Vegeta's a dick.

What has Vegeta ever done that compared to Gokou letting a villain stay to fight his son and forcing his son to fight? Cell he gave a senzu bean and he could have easily ended Buu by killing Fat Buu yet he wanted Goten and Trunks to do it instead. Goten and Trunks wanted to fight Buu sure but that still is no excuse.

Dude, Goku was preparing his son to be the protector of Earth, Vegeta on the other hand is too arrogant & cocky. Goku is really the better father.

well he is worse than vegeta. for vegeta thats neglect. he didnt pay attention to trunks. id rather have that then have my dad say basically here kill my son

Vegeta = Aggresive, "fight me now, son."

Goku = Passive aggresive "Chi Chi, when I was his age, I loved a good challenge, I think Gohan would love fighting someone obviously stronger than him.

What did Vegeta do to abuse Trunks? Goku pretty much said,"I'm tired, come and fight my 12 year old son who is 3-4 feet shorter than you and 150-200 pounds lighter, to basically beat the shit out of him, oh, and don't forget your senzu bean, I want the beating to last". Prick.
