No one thinks you did Bardock.

wow at 127 pages I am not reading all that however I believe genetic......who in their right mind would choose a difficult path in so many numbers?

Well being in love with a girl can be really difficult too....so ....that#s not an arguement.....

Genetic being teh basis for homosexuality is a matter of many genes, not just a single gay gene.

It is more a matter of recessive traits...which is why gay people have straight kids and straight people have gay kids. Human genes work as a symphony. Genes flash to life at certain times, and in response to certain changes. One single gene can have a thousand different purposes, depending on when they become active.

So, there are multiple genes, acting in unison, at different times, that cause homosexuality.

I posted a much more ellaborate response somewhere in teh last 2000 pages...I just can't find it.

your talking about something called mosaics something I mentioned in an earlier post, for these to be of evolutionary value "gayness" has to have a purpose.

As for genes flashing to life it doesn't really work quite like that - mutation does, although most mutations are non beneficial.

I do not consider gayness a mutation as I suspect the proportion of gays remains constant over time.

More likely gayness is a genetic predisposition that given the right social conditions "comes out".

As explained many times before, my personal views are that homosexuailty is not chosen, and yet not neccesarily 'genetic' depending on the context of the term.

Ofcourse it's genetic. Everyone has a gay uncle.

And sometimes it's chosen. Do to traumatic life experiences. This topic is really kindof lame. I can't believed it's survived this long..

😂

Subconsciously chosen, yes. Consciously, no.

I don't have a gay uncle. At least not one that is open and honest about it. In fact, I'm the only member of my family that is gay.

I revise my view -

I'm quite certain he was joking.

Besides, you'll be someone's gay uncle now.

I already am...whooops.

What interests me more is the notion that all homosexuals are pedophiles who are going to target young males for their sexual urges. For instance, in one of my classes, the question was raised, "What would you do if you had a gay teacher?"

Random dumbass: "I'd transfer out of his class. Wouldn't want him coming after me."

Me: "Uh, just because he's a homosexual doesn't mean he's a pedophile."

As an afterthought, I nearly added "Or desperate".

very true I countered this exact same idea on a thread earlier today, being gay does not make you a pedo.

Yep... all genetics follows the same rules as male pattern baldness.

If indeed (homo)sexuality has a genetic basis, which is likely, the genetic basis of homosexuality is likely polygenic and predominantly recessive, possibly heterogeneous. The alleles would not necessarily have to confer any benefit to remain in the gene pool - however I'm not saying that there isn't a possibility of these alleles being beneficial in some manner.

As for the "random dumbass", seems more male egocentric nature (if someone is gay they obviously want me) and sexual insecurity than an assumption that homosexuals are pedophiles.

I don't get it. If a gay guy wanted to have intercourse with me, I would be flattered. It's not that much of a difference between a girl being attracted to me...

Either way, the counts of this happening are zero and zero.

EXCATLY!

This is so confusing to me! I have an aunt that seems to think that simply because I am gay, I am willing to become involved with anyone else who has sex with men! She once asked me if she could "hook me up" with some fifty-five year old gay guy, who owns a furniture company!

WHAT?!

People with the most profound mis-understanding of the true nature of homosexuals are apt to make this uninformed mistake. Gay men and women are just like any other group of humans. They are attracted to certain types, based on personality and/or looks.

Never once have I been attracted to drastically over-weight men. I don't like facial hair on my boyfriends(no problem with facial hair, just not my thing) I'm not big into dating guys who are three times my age.

I compare it to people thinking that someone like, oh.... Angelina Jolee would be attracted to someone like...hummm?...Billy Bob Thornton!

Oh.... 😮

Actually X male pattern baldness, hair testosterone sensitivity, testosterone malfunction in men over 35 etc may all be due to the benefits that higher testosterone levels may have conferred in the primitive past. - Thats another question though, things are not as clear cut as your post suggests and many geneticists would believe that most genes that are passed on in "high numbers" (lots of gays around) barring mutation confer some advantage e.g. the sickle cell trait.

Eww... Billy Bob Thornton. I don't get how animal, mineral or vegetable would go for him let alone someone as hot as Angelina Jolie.

I know about the high testosterone causing baldness. As for why homosexuality is maintained even without conferring any beneficial effects could simply just be polygenic recessive refuge.
