Yeah, or maybe not...... Hence the discussion.

I don't believe it's genetic..... I used to think it might have been but it actually just doesn't make sense, I don't think it's a choice either, at least not a conscious one.
As far as the decision not being a sub conscious one, neither are most decisions we make about what we like and/or prefer. I hate the color yellow. Why? Dunno.
Originally posted by Rogue JediTo be honest, I really couldn't give a flying **** why people are gay. It really doesn't effect me.

so, what do you guys think it means to say that a behaviour has a genetic root?EDIT: Part 2: What evidence would convince you that homosexual behaviour can be genetic in origin?
I would argue that it is only part genetic. Behaviours in my view are shaped by a combination of environment and genes.
Evidence that would convince me to believe that homosexual behaviour is of entirely genetic origin would be virtually impossible to gain. It would be unethical, as to prove it they'd have to alter the genes of an unborn baby and observe it throughout its life.

ya, thats exactly what all science says
there is no difference between nature and nurture 😉

When I wrote this thread 3 years ago I was kinda stupid. So the choices are moot, really.
