"Interesting. How do you explain God ordering Abraham to murder his only son, Isaac in Genesis 22:2-13? The Bible is filled with passages in which God demands the murder of one person or another."

Have u actually read the context of that particular passage?

dude, thanks.

Jackie Malfoy> No, we don't chose who we fall in love with. Adultery wouldn't exist if that was the case. You sound just like FE, who claims homosexuals just choose to be homosexuals and therefore it's okay to dislike them.

"Anyone who has a brain would not think that someone was born gay."
No, wrong.

Anyone who has a brain would not think that someone chose to be gay.

"Actly BF is not a good mod nor is he funny."
🙂
😄
🤣

"You have no right to call anyone's opinion stupid."
Yes, he does. Anyone has the right. Look: Your opinion is stupid. You may say that MINE is stupid as well -

Tex> Your question on whether or not the possbility of finding a gay-gene (which i sincerely doubt) would lead to the end of homosexuality is an interesting one. It depends.
I remember seeing a show on Star Trek:Next Generation, where a woman talked about the appearance of the characters. A reporter asked why Jean Luc Picard was bald, as that would surely be fixable in the future.
"Yes, it would," answered the woman." But by then no one cares."

Our fixation on genes for "this" and "that" comes from a bad understanding of them. It's rarely ONE gene that decides some trait, but rather a combination. When it comes to homosexuality, the latest I read is, that when a foetus is some 7 weeks old, its flooded with testosterone. The amount decides not the sex - that was done at conception - but the masculinity/femininity of the child later in life.

FE> No, you didn't. Saying "You just know" is not a valid answer. So... let's hear it.

Adam_Poe>As always... Well said.

jackie malfoy and FE would make a perfect couple!!!

btw, omega, i must say THANK YOU, remeber at the begining i would disagree wtih u ALL the time, i was so...religious, i thoguht the bible was like the answer to everything but its really not! a person REALLY close to me (not family tho'😉 just anounced she's a dyke, and her parents r taking it really well, they've always taught her good things, her friends were always polite ppl, so it CANT b chosen!! im agreeing with the fact thats genetical, thanks a lot omega u really helped me open my mind!!

No, strawberries are sexy. Strawberries in fishnets 😄

A4E> You’re welcome 🙂
Pad yourself on the back, though, for being open-minded enough AND intelligent enough to listen to other opinions AND be able to contemplate them in the context in which they were given.

😬 'Dyke'......not a good choice of word, but it's cool to see someone appreciating The Omega, she deserves it.

Why on earth are you starting this up again?

We been through all this aready why start it again?Anyway anyone with a brain would know that it is choosen and no science reasons can say other ward!
I mean how is it possible that you are born gay? What check your blood type or sometihng? It can't be proven because there is no possible way.
I really ldon't understand why you guys still don't get it.In what science words can you tell me that there was actly a scientist that prove that you are born gay?
Name the scientist and his words? If not then you really don't belive it because again there is no prove!Anyone with a brain would know that!JM 🙄 💃

How can you prove that people are NOT born gay, (Yea i know proving a negative, but Im trying to make a point."
Did you wake up one day and decide to be straight? I know I didn't!

First of all, "anyone with a brain", what kind of comment is that?? Jeez, take a chill pill and be very careful of what you say. Second, I agree with you to a point. I don't think it's genetic but I have been swayed a little by some comments made here that are pro-genetic. You totally need to relax with your opinions, everyone is welcome to have different views and if we want to continue this argument why the hell would we stop just because you demand it? Oh, that's right, you have opened our eyes to the fact that it's not genetic because you said so. 🙄 Get off that pedestal sweetie, I don't think you're quite old enough to have one yet.

If you are old enough to be involved in this topic then I am too! Thanks for argeeing to me even if it is only at a certain point! But if you had been here before someone had said the brain thing to me before.
So I am only responding to them.If you don't understand what is going on you should not get involved inleast you know both sides of the story.
Alittle advice for you that may help you in life!Anyway like I said I want prove and if any of you guys belive that people can be born gay then where is the prove?
If you don't have any then fine. But you should really look over the facts first before debating on it.JM

It's such a pity, I happen to agree with you here but you are seriously beginning to bug me 😬

dun dun duuunnn. You really should look into Biology and Genetics. You seem a little....ignorant to science.

Now, no "gay gene" has been found...yet. But I'll show you another way.

Homosexuality is probably a minor chemical imbalance in the brain, or psychological trauma(no, that doesn't mean that I'm saying all homosexuals had traumatic childhoods). One way that this could be tied to genes is if there was a slight mutation in the DNA chain, concerning the genes, and the brain cells produce a faulty protein that caused the chemical imbalance. It's a fault in the DNA helix.

The chemical imbalance would also explain why animals can become homosexual, and why there are bisexuals, who cannot chose just one gender.

I tried to avoid using big words. It looks like you already have trouble spelling, so I didn't want to confuse you. If you want, I can speak in Biology jargon.

Chocolate sauce and fishnets!? Stop it, you're being naughty. naughty 😄

Love your sig by the way...heh.

JM: Nice avoidance of my question, Did you choose to be straight? Think long and hard about it, You didn't. By all logic if you "choose" to be gay, then you must have to as some point in time "choose" to be straight, If this accually happened it would probably be a large decision on someones life, and not one that we would forget easily, so did you ever make a choice like that? No.
There my point is made.

The context of the passage is irrelevant. Fiery Eyes claims that God would never proclaim murder to be right. Yet, I provided a passage from The Bible in which God not only proclaims murder to be right, but He demands it.

In 1991, Simon LeVey, neuroanatomist for the Salk Institue, found that the INAH3 structure of the hypothalamus in homosexual men is twice as small as those of heterosexual men, more closely resembling those of heterosexual women.

Seven years later, findings published in the March edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences by researchers at the University of Texas - Austin report that the cochlea structure in homosexual women more closely resembles that of heterosexual men.

In both studies, the difference in the structures of homosexuals is attributed to hormone exposure in the womb, evidence that sexual orientation has a biological substrate.

A fingerprint study by J.A.Y. Hall and D. Kumura at the University of Western Ontario at London ON Canada found that a significant percentage of homosexuals have excess ridges on their left hand digits compared to their right hand digits, a characteristic that was not shared by heterosexuals.

This study shows a genetic link to sexual orientation that is determined before birth as fingerprints are fully developed in a fetus before the 17th week and do not change thereafter.

A study by Psychologist Michael Bailey of Northwestern University and Psychiatrist Richard Pillard of Boston University found that if one sibling is homosexual the likelihood of an identical twin also being homosexual is 52%, the likelihood of a fraternal twin being homosexual is 22%, and the likelihood of a genetic or non-genetic sibling being homosexual is 10%.

They also found that in most instances in which identical twins are separated at birth and one twin is homosexual, the other twin is also homosexual.

This study shows that sexuality has a genetic component and is not determined by life experiences.

Dean Hamer at the National Cancer Institute examined the DNA of 40 homosexuals and found that ALL shared a genetic marker in the Xq28 region of the X chromosome.

More recently, Camperio-Ciani of the University of Padua - Italy found that there is no single "gay gene" but rather several genes responsible for sexual orientation. He identified that genetic components are indeed linked to the X chromosome and that there are other components likely to be on other chromosomes as well.

oh shit.... PWNED!

Those ****ing dancing bananas are pissing me off... until you quit using them you aren't old enough.

I don't use dancing bananas, therefore I am more mature and a better judge of ethical and moral questions than you, obviously. [/Sarcasm]

But, seriously you don't just get respect from people, you earn respect. Show us your ability to think openly and argue effectively, and act more mature and maybe we will stop treating you like the little kid that you are. So far all you've done is repeat yourself, avoided questions, and ignore evidence you dont agree with. Try writing something worth reading. Find evidence to support your points... present it. Find what it is in other people's arguments that you disagree with, find evidence to refute that statement... etc. FYI- just so we dont have to go over this again later, the Bible isnt very good evidence.

And no more bananas.
