Homosexuality: Chosen or Genetic?

Well, normal in the developmental sense, I suppose, because it stems from something widespread among different species and VERY longstanding- so it's obviously not the result of "abnormal" socialization or abnormal physical development (because the development is according to some innate tendancy, I believe, so it's a normal development in that it doesn't deviate from the individual organism's tendancy).
__As for popular usage, tweak that dictionary; it needs it. "Normal" in popular usage is used interchangeably with "OK/acceptable," don't you think? Abnormal implies "bad/mistake." I mean, the way these words are used, normal is a better fit for describing homosexuality.

Abnormal implies different from the norm as far as I am concerned, which fits homosexuality to a tee. I didn't mean it in a bad way.

it doesn't matter really n e wayz.... if ur gay ur gay... answer to ur god or devil or tree or whatever the hell u worship...

Depends whether they believe. Although I have always wondered why God, any God, would really get upset about it. All they things that happen, all the things one imagines they should be dealing with, and they apparently get upset about who a person loves. It just seems so petty to me. An all powerful God that would send a good person to hell because they loved the same sex? Not particularly good. And unfair as well, considering that it isn't a choice. You are gay if you are gay. No way out of it.

I'm gay. I certainly didn't choose to be. It would certainly be a lot easier being straight. But these were the cards that was given to me, I just have to play my hand.

:😖haking my fist:: and I thought my opinion might have enlightened some people 🙁 homosexuality has been around for ages so this is definitely not a phenomenon. some societies allowed this for guys as long as they created offspring with another. laws don't require this now and I don't mind the subject. truly. hey I'm still at that experimental stage. 😉

Well actually, if u were looking at it from God's perspective, loving a person of the same sex isnt the reason u would be sent to hell at all. Most ppl who are homosexual arent Christian and have not accepted Jesus as their saviour . . . . . . . which would be the reason they would be going to hell, rather than due to their sexual preference.

Which is why we ask for God's forgiveness for our sins.

Not everyone normally swears, and perhaps those that dont swear, look down on those that do...........................

I say genetic. No-one I know chose to be gay, they realised they were.

i have a friend who is a homosexual.

i asked him this question.

he told me its genetic.

just think if half the population on earth alone chose to be gay there would be no ladies.

Yea, but some people are. Most people I know who are Gay do believe in God but don't go to church because christains think its wrong and imagine what they would say if they went to church

Yea, people who believe in god ask for forgiveness, what about the people that don't!!! God may always forgive us, but what is that teaching us. That we can get away with everything with a quick 'sori' to god?

genetics are involved MOST of the time, but depending on ur enviornments and what u have been through in life ur brain can also REWIRE to make u attracted to the same sex, so its not chosen, just like U dont choose to be born as a male or a female{hetrosexual}, the reason i say this is because there is a reason y anyone does nething, almost nothing is purely choice.

ok...but what confuses me about this 'choice' ....the word choice indicates that there is some kind of self control over the sexual preference...now if that is so...wouldn't that mean that a decision has to be made....one way or the other...yet how many of us chose to be straight...I sure don't remember making that decision...something made it for me...so I can't believe sexual preference is by choice...I think its just a natural occurance that has been argued over for so long now that we've just told ourselves that there must be something wrong with it...but I don't think there is...I think that a certain percentage of people are born with homosexual preferences and that is how it is...does there have to be a scientific reason...a physiological reason...the brain is a very complicated organ...(ta say the least)........I just don't think we have enough knowledge about human sexuality yet to ever answer this question....
