Homosexuality: Chosen or Genetic?

I don't believe in God but I would imagine if he existed and created humans he would want people to reproduce to help the human race grow and increase in size.. but by now I think we have plenty of people around that we don't have to worry about people not reproducing.

We are overpopulating the planet as it is.

We certainly don't need any help in propagating our species....

Well i really think its up to people to decied or if they don't decied it just in then people should except it. It nothing to do with them and aint hurting them; so they should get over it!!

well you are entitled to your opinion...and i really respect the way you stick to your beliefs considering that ever one is against you and disagrees with you...What i don't respect is that you cann't repect homosexuals a normal people.....

They aren't "normal." That doesn't mean they don't deserve equal rights though. A lot of us aren't normal.

Homosexuals aren't "typical" or "standard" because their sexuality is something not found in most people, making them stand out in that sense, meaning their sexual preference is abnormal. I'm not saying that's a bad thing and it certainly shouldn't prevent them from equal rights, but saying homosexuals are "the norm" is false.

Of course homosexuality is normal, though it is not with the majority it doesn't mean that is isn't normal, it may say that in the dictionary, but it is a matter of opinion what normal is

How can it be "normal" if it isn't with the majority? I thought that's the whole point of what normal is... going with the norm.

It's medically proven that in homosexual males, their hypothalamus is smaller and the size of an average woman, so in all aspects it would lead you to think it's generic, so that's a big question that I don't know how to answer.

Actually, I can believe in what I like. As a human on this earth, I have every right to my own opinion!! And I do believe in God and I do believe that there are so many good things out of the bible!! That does not intensionly mean that Im going to believe every single one of them! Because I don't. I don't believe that people should treat Gay people any different, like God said that they should burn in hell; or what ever. I think that bull shit really!! He also says in the bible:

We shall not kill
We should honour our parents
We should not swear

I believe that everyone has at least broken the two bottom ones. But there are people are here, who did kill people. Everyone normally swears but they don't get looked down on, and neither do people who don't put the garbage out for their parents!!

uhh... you need to reread that bible sweetheart. There's a good reason why he tells you to stick to your own kind. Would I be gay? No, but if sumbody else wanted to be, it's their day in hell. So if it's what they want go for it. This world belongs to God not you, and you're not supposed to love it. And it doesn't say we shouldn't swear, it says don't use the Lord's name in vain...

The question of whether homosexuality is "normal" or not, comes down to the way one defines normality. It depends - normal as in natural? If that is the case, the homosexuality is normal, as it natural occurs. Normal as in conforming to social/genetic/cultural/political/financial norms? In that case it would be possible to say "no, it doesn't", but then what are such norms? The was a short while ago 6 billion people on this earth, and remarkable differences exist between many of those people. Cultural differences. Political differences. In a way, no one is normal. However as a people humanity supposedly embraces expression, individuality, and choice. It would not be normal then for a homosexual to hide their sexuality, if a dominant social "norm" in the western world is freedom from fear, freedom of expression.

How could normal be the equivalent to natural? I don't understand that at all. Normal basically means something typical or standard in society. Natural means basically that it happens in nature or is part of nature. They are not synonyms. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with homosexuality, but I don't get how you could classify it as "normal."
