Final Debate, Part 2, Live Update:

Starting with a new score.

[Edit] Kerry makes a nice clarification regarding his time in the Senate, with respect to Medicare.

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 1, Bush= 0

[Edit]Kerry adequately explains his healthcare plan, and dismisses notion of major government control. Also, Bush nearly makes an offensive comment towards the media.

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 2, Bush= -1

[Edit] Bush fumbles on Social Security. Bush makes absolutely assanine comments. Kerry kills on Social Security. In addition, Bush makes a horrendous comment about tax cuts and the middle class.

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 3, Bush= -2

[Edit] Bush makes the first-ever time limit miscalculation in the debates. Not a major issue, but it earns him a -0.5

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 3, Bush= -2.5

[Edit] Kerry speaks of raising the minimum wage. Bush continues the Republican attempt to benefit big business by keeping minimum wage low. He made a passing comment about Mitch McConnell's plan, and doesn't follow up at all.

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 4, Bush= -3.5

[Edit] Kerry makes gets on a nice stance regarding the assault weapons ban. Bush goes grossly off-topic.

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 5, Bush= -3.5

[Edit] Bush falters on the issue of his faith, then comes back with a powerful statement, which I'm sure many people liked.

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 5, Bush= -2.5

[Edit] Bush is really slurring his speech in the last question.

Current Debate Score. Kerry= 5, Bush= -3.5

First Half: Kerry 3, Bush -4
Second Half: Kerry 5, Bush -3.5
-Total Debate Score: Kerry= 8, Bush= -7.5

From the hard numbers, Kerry won both halves, but he was better in the second half. Obviously, Bush lost, but he was better in the second half as well.

Final Quick Analysis: Kerry has won all three debates. His largest victory was in the first debate. Tonight's debate earned him his second biggest victory, and the second debate was Kerry's weakest debate.

Expect another boost in Kerry's polling numbers.

Wowza!!!!!!!!!

They sang, they danced, they stretched a little truth.😱 💃 😖hifty:
Just looking at the character of the two, Kerry is beating Bush like a drum. So, we know Kerry is far more intelligent, but the thing that stands out to me is his passion for a better country. Bush is the most arrogant president I've seen in my lifetime. The way he explains his positions is always defensive and as if he's the smartest man on the planet. Kerry's stance is one of America being a leader, and acting like it. Taking care of and giving care to vital American problems, while at the same time being a working part of a global union. I like that.

Bush seems to say, 😠 "Here, have some more of my sh*t pie, and how do you like me now?

Kerry seems to say, 😎 "We have alot of work to do, here and abroad. So, let's stop f*ck'n around and get busy."

Bush's appearance on the David Letterman show sums it up for me. During a commercial break, he needed to clean his reading glass. Instead of asking for a tissue or rag, he proceeded to grab the blouse of a woman standing in front of him and use it as his personal shammy.😑 That blouse represents the American flag. Except he's wiping his ass with that.

Vote Kerry

Excellent and very interesting, the Uni's media lounge was packed for this one, and I agree, most of us (read all) felt Kerry not only blitzed this debate, but presented a very nice plan and view for the future.

from what I saw Kerry was the best, even though that doesnt count for too much

Still, better then nothing, and I guess the debates are intended to show the their grasp of issues, plans and character, and it seems that to a degree this has occured...

The best thing that Kerry has going for him is:

Spoiler:
that he's NOT George Bush

If he says he feels he did the right thing...then what exactly are you expecting him to "admit"???

A report made 18 months after the war on Iraq started proofs "SO FAR" that their are no WMD in Iraq. That report also makes no mention of the whole squadron of planes that were found BURRIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE IRAQI desert.

Much like finding Saddam in a 5 foot hole in the ground.....would you expect finding WMD to be easy? Would you be able to hide something the size of a car inside the state of Texas? I would think so...

He said he'll take responsibility for whatever historians deem to be a mistake.

Though I do agree he did not mention anything about the timing involved in the invasion. he did say he would take responsiblity for his actions.

And Bush got pissed because 75-85% of the "facts" that come from Kerry are not accurate. The majority of them are inflated to make the President seem worst than he actually is.

For a guy who should clearly win this Election....John Kerry doesn't impress me. You'd think he could just state actual facts, and that alone would be enough to do Bush in...but instead he's got to exaggerate almost every number. Bush does the same...but he's already considered a crappy president. Now the new guy is already starting his term by lying to the American people.

Kerry is far from an honest guy. People are just so ready to get rid of Bush that they don't want to see another bad president on the rising.

The question isn't so much did he feel he did the right thing in Iraq. The question was 'Please give three instances in which you came to realize you had made a wrong decision, and what you did to correct it. ' He didn't answer the question. He turned it to Iraq. That was not the question.

I am sure they find the WMD the same time they find Osama, Santa and the Eater bunny. Seems they are all hiding in Pakastan. 🙄

You are right I really didn't expect him to answer the question. You see I don't think he feels he has made any mistakes. That is his problem. And it was a nice phrase... He'll take responisbility if historians deem that he made a mistake.

How exactly will he take responsibility? He'll be out of office. Will he apologize to the American people or do something to make amends? I think not.

You say Bush is pissed that 75-85% of what Kerry says is not accurate. I think it is funny that you pull 75-85% out the air to describe Kerry's accuracy? What do you base this number on? Fuzzy math? Hmmm

Yes Kerry has said some things that have not been accurate. I peronally think your % is a bit high. Things like they have spent 200 billion on the war in Iraq when it had been only 120 billion. In the 3rd debate Kerry corrercted that by saying we have spent 120 Billion and will spend a total of 200 Billion by the end of the fiscal year. They have taken apart both Kerry and Bush statements.

Bush said Kerry voted 98 times to raise taxes. Not so says CNN research. They said he inflated it by counting many votes related to a single bill. Proceedural votes that have nothing to do with the final vote of the bill. Nor does he mention all the votes that Kerry did to Lower taxes.

You can pick apart both candidates. You say Kerry does not impress you. Well Bush SCARES me. I like what Kerry has to say. My wife does also. That's 2 votes anyway. I don't expect him to be perfect. Nor do I expect Bush to be. I do expect a level of compitance that I think Kerry has but Bush can't even comprehend. Bush is in a State of denial. 😎

I agree the % i threw out there was a bit high, but honestly....can you name a number that hasn't been stretched or exaggerated to make the other guy seem worst? you'll be hard pressed.

When I made my post, it was regarding the 2nd debate. We've heard the $200 billion dollars in spending for the past 2 debates.....and NOW he adds an asterisk to it to say that somehow America is going to spend another $80 billion dollars in Iraq by the end of the fiscal year, when everything leading up to this point in time....including actually waging the war....only cost $120 billion.

Even his revised statement is bullsh!t. I'm not trying to defend Bush in the numbers and statistics that he uses in his debates, because as I said in my last post...we know he's full of shit.

I just hope people lose the tunnel vision and see both sides of the picture. You aren't going to get a much better president out of Kerry than you did with George Bush. But what you will get is a less assured leader. I see all the Kerry supporters labeling Bush as "arrogant" but is it really arrogance? Did you ever think Bush is more assure of his own decisions than Kerry is about his own.

What happened to the attack mode Kerry was on in the first debate? What happened was Bush went into attack mode, and Kerry curled up into a ball instead of blasting right back. We all know Kerry has more ammo to his arguements...but he's weak. He needs to tell Bush what's up...not wait for Bush to tell him what's up.

You can make your plead about not wanting to go to war anymore...but Bush has to be done with that crap. He knows what it's done for his image and his credibility. If he gets a 2nd term, the American people would never allow another war.

So that leads you with what? What has Bush done to decimate our country that hasn't been a direct result of....say....9/11.

Our economy's fleeting recession was EXPECTED by major economists. We just went through a couple of years involving the United States largest growth ever. And in comparison to past recessions...this one was light.

Education. Kerry throws this bullsh!t $28 Billion dollar number out there as if Bush has somehow not helped the country. Yet I believe during his first 3 years as president, he increased government spending on education by between 49-53%. And your complaint there is?

Bush scares you? He really scares you? I'm sorry, but if you live in the United States and you're afraid of....ummmm....just about anything. Then you have psychological problems. Try living anywhere else in the world....then come back and tell me what scary is.

Though I don't necessarily agree with Bush in most aspects, i do agree with his stance on education. Not so much the program he's set up, but his feeling that the reason why the US has such a high unemployment rate is because of poorly educated youths. Our nation is full of young morons who pass high school just by attending class. Something needs to be done about that...

I didn't say I was scared of everything I said I was scared of Bush. An ego maniac that brought our country into a war that didn't need to happen. That is of course my opinion. You can disagree as much as you like. People thoughout world don't just dislike us. They hate us. Enough to resort to terrorism. IF you really think that invading Iraq has reduced terrorism then I think you are a bit naive. It has only increased the potential threats to our country and foreign interests. What he has sown will haunt us for years to come. Will Kerry do a better job? I sure hope so. I feel he can. He certainly can't do much worse.

When discussing the Iraq war that he says is... 'mission accomplished!' Is it? I think not. We are still at war. It never ended. Do you think that spending will cease or be limited to 120 million? No. It is a black hole that will suck up a lot more money then that.

You say he helped education. Maybe his spending has increased but ultimately has he accomlished his goal? Kids are still slipping through the cracks. After school programs not being funded by the presidents budget. School districts are having to pick up the dead fall of what Bush isn't paying for. No child left behind! but you'll have to pay for it out of local moneys. Raising Property tax. That would be indirect raising of my taxes to fund his program would it not? Agreeing with his stance in education is great but does he stand by it himself?

You would probably have us believe that our new all time highest deficit must be a result of 9/11? Bush certainly couldn't be responsible?? Yes 9/11 caused many problems. The stock market caused many problems. Bush also caused many problems. Fund a war while giving money back to people in the form of tax reduction is irresponsible. Especially giving most of it to the rich and elite. His base.

My unborn grand kids will be paying for this debt because Bush wanted to invade Iraq. Note I said wanted to not needed to. So yes, Bush scares me on many levels. You think Bush will be better I think Kerry will be better. Perfect? no! But better.

4 MORE YEARS

Sorry dude, but I didn't have to buy into what they said...I could tell for myself that he flip-flopped. How many times do I have to state my opinion-YES, every President or human flip flops...but to the level that Kerry does is absurd. Bush has flip-flopped on minor issues. Yes, sometimes you realize that you should have done or should be doing something else years later...But Kerry will be for something and then vote against it. I'm not talking years later, I'm talking right afterwards. He is for so many things, yet votes against them, or he was for the war but against paying for supplies and stuff for our troops and then he voted for it, before he voted against it. I mean he just pointed out the fact that he's a major flip-flopper right there...No, Bush is for the war...of course, always has been...any major issue he has stood firm on.

"good job buying into what the Bush campaign says about flip-flops, cause you know Kerry is the only politician to ever say one thing and do another...cough Bush cough."

I admire that Zanthor states his opinion without shutting others down like a lot of others do. I respect that.

I think you all need a brake from an internet argument about stuff...

DAAAAAAAH FLIP FLOP DUUUUUH FLIP DUUUUH FLOP DEEEERRR FLOP FLIP....

I wouldn't bring up Kerry flip flopping, except that that guy brought it up again...Even though Kerry doesn't know what he believes. Maybe Kerry should stop taking that Botox.

Kerry was owned in the last debate...I'll tell you that.
