I can guarantee, more or less, that everyone here didn't have the opinion of Lateralus in 2001, that they do now (if they were even into Tool then). So I don't get why there's all this judging going on not even a week after it's release.-AC
So, people can't say they enjoyed it on first listen?

I agree with Alpha on this one very much.

You didn't literally say it, but it can be interpreted that way, hence the question.
What's the lesson to be learned from this quote? Not to misinterpret things.
Read what I LITERALLY said. Don't read between the lines, read the actual lines that are infront of you.

Everytime I make a comment I have to keep sending people back to read it.
"More or less". Aka allowing for exceptions.
If you like Lateralus as much now and for the exact same reasons, as you did then, fine. I'm just making the comment that a week into its release I don't think it's fair to say it's not better, definitely, than an album that has been out 5 years.

Yes, the album art was well worth the price. Anyways, it doesn't bother me a hell of a lot people are comparing Laterallus, and 10,000 Days, because they are comparable albums. But I don't think judgement should be reached yet, I guess I just wish people'd give it more time. I only got through the album once myself so far, because mine hasn't come in the mail, I locked myself in a friend's room and listened to their copy. The first thing I heard someone say about it, and I seem to think so too, is it seems like it's from the point of view of someone who just finished listening to Laterallus and is telling the world what they learned. I need to listen to the album again though...
