Who was a better batman Adam West or Michael Keaton?

What made the plot stupid Mr. Parker? It was the BEST out there. And you dare call yourself a Spidey fan? When I was back in New York, all I heard about was how good Spider-Man was. And I agree. It was good, no wait, great, and possibly the best Marvel movie I have ever seen. Daredevil was ok, but this is the Batman forum so here it goes... Batman Returns and BATMAN were best by far for their plots, cast, and of course, DIRECTOR. You can't say the same about the next two(in which I blame Joel for everything that went wrong) (off topic: Man Spider my ass! The symbiote costume did the same thing, he probably based it off the symbiote costume! sheesh!) Stop, Hammer time.

again if you want to talk about why the man-spider movies are about the worst marvel comic films ever and that people are just so blind about the fact that spiderman has been brought to the screen that they refuse to see how bad these movies really are,then you need to go to the spiderman section,get off that topic already this is the batman section.the symbiote costume is comparing apples and oranges also.give me a break its totally different.BATMAN AND BATMAN RETURNS were far worse than batman forever as I have already pointed out before and why.Danny devito was horrible as the penguin and deal with it,michael keaton was the worst casting choice in comicbook history,great cast my foot.thats why all the batman movies sucked in one way or another because the casting was so horrible in all of them.tim burton sucked as a director even more so than Schumacher did.

Burton did not direct the horrble Batman and Robin and Batman forever, Schumacher did.

Batman and Batman returns were good movies, Batman 1 was a great movie, Danny was a ok Penguin, but the down fall was he was not base on the comic Penguin.

obviously you have not been reading through this whole thread because you missed it where I have pointed out many times before why batman forever is the best batman movie and sorry batman returns was just as aweful as batman and robin was.I admit batman 89 was much better than batman and robin,that on was crap no question about it,but batman forever is the best of the 4.Hands down no contest.SO yes BURTON screwed up even more so than schmumacher and should never have been allowed to make a batman movie.burton DID direct the horrible batman 89 and batman returns so he is a horrible batman director,deal with it.Burton has made some good films before in the past such as edward scissorhands and ed wood,but batman is NOT one of them. 🙄

batman forever is the third best, they go from 1 to 4, batman 89 was the best, batman and robin was the worst, batman returns was good, devito played a sinister more twisted penguin, but i liked it. keaton was better than kilmer and burton was a great director of the batman movies.

come on, He keeps saying Batman forever is the best Bat movie there ever is, but just because Mr Parker says it, does not mean it is true. I have read this whole trend, the Down fall with Batman Forever were the bright lights. And the goofy Batsuit out fit, and the bat butt shot. You never see Keaton do a butt shot, But Kilmer started it, and it ended with Cloony and O Donner.

so the brief bat butt shots makes it a bad movie? 🙄 sure to us guys it wasnt appealing but Schumacher was clearly doing that to appeal to the girls.proof that it was such a bad movie is in the fact that you will come across hundreds of people both on the net and in real life if you ask around enough like I have over the years of people who agree with me that keaton was a horrible choice for the role of batman because of his physical build and the fact that burtons movies were all about the villians and that bats was just a supporting character pissed off many batman fans.thats why batman begins is being made because of how these batman films pissed off so many fans such as myself.

Keaton has a bigger following as Batman than Kilmer. You cant deny that, His won evey singal best Batman poll there is on this forum.

big freaking deal,that doesnt mean that he wasn't horribly cast as batman,what DOES is all you got to do is go around and ask people in real life you know what they thought of the choice of keaton as batman and you will find people out there as I have over the years that say-he sucked,he was so physically wrong for the role,I post at this other message board where I have seen quite a few people there say things like-"scrawney,bald keaton sucked,batmans not some skinny short runt."They usually always agree that the movie sucked as well and that it was incredibly boring.the ones that say that. I cant tell you how many people I have encounterd over the years who saw that movie and because of the fact that bats was just a supportinc character and joker was the main star of the film,they all said-THAT MOVIE SUCKED,IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED THE JOKER which is what it should have been called since that movie was all about you.geez I make all these points that you deliberately keep ignoring and I got to keep repeating myself.I give up,if your just going to deliberately ignore points that shoot down your arguments, then fine Im not going to play your game anymore.

I say the batman from the 90's cartoon is the best.

yeah too bad the producers of that series did not do the movies because unlike burton and schumacher,they understand the batman mythos.The 90's cartoon is 10X better than the movies.

Glad to see how mr parker has argumented so well and shooted those arguments from the Keaton lovers. So, dustin hoffman isnt for action, and keaton yes? hahahaha, that is the most stupid and false argument that i have seen in years. Surely, keaton career in movies were in action movies before batman, movies like bettlejuice, mr mom, clean and sorber, johhny dangeroulsy or night shift were all plenty of action. hahahaha. Man, keaton is so bad in action movies as hoffman is. There arent any real difference between them , almost same height, drama and comedy roles ,etc. Well, the difference is Hoffman is much better actor than keaton is. So , hoffman would be so wrong as keaton was. That is the point.

And the man spider movies are about man spider because is about a guy with organics and not funny at all , nothing to do with spider man. But this is a thread about batman, not man spider .

And the scripts in all the batman movies where pathetic. The script of batman and batman returns is full of flaws. We dont know about nothing about bruce wayne and his motivations and his reasons to be batman, is a supporting character, etc.

Yes Kilmer fit the role of Batman becuz he looked the part, but looking the part only gets you half way there. You need a good director(like Burton or Nolan) a good acting method, and you need to keep the audience on their toes. Keaton did have a good director(no, great) he had a good acting method, and he kept the crowd on their toes.(Keep them interested and suprised) Kilmer had the fitness, and kept the crowd on their toes. That is how I judged the two. All in all, Keaton won, 3-2. But he looked perfectly fine in BATMAN and Batman Returns(full head of hair, wasn't short nor fat) I'm tired of arguing. And Bakerboy, in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, it was the same way, no motivation scene or etc. So don't bag on Batman Returns and BATMAN! And as I said above, Kilmer lost fair and square. So why don't we forget about it and start the REAL argument that the thread was named after! And their not making BB because of teh first sucked! You actually think that everyone in the world agrees with you?!? 😆 If so, you are pretty stupid. Their making BB because it's been a long time since we've seen a GOOD Batman movie. 13 years since a GOOD one came out(Batman Returns) And 16 years since the BEST came out(BATMAN)P.S. First of all you are liying in several things

Keaton was short in the batman movies, and a little fat and a little bald, see how the only actor who is shorter than michael keaton was danny devito.

There are a origin scene in batman forever, with kilmer talking with kidman about his origin. Not too much about his motivations, but al least there are much more than in the first two movies.

Batman begins was made clearly because the other four sucked , to restart the franchise, new actors, new director, new story , new atmophere, etc. A total restart to give batman a new chance in cinema.

Keaton didnt won anything, this isnt any competition , only a discussion about the actors who played batman in the movies, there arent any winners or losers. And there are a lot, tons of people who disliked keaton as batman, i know many people in my country, friends, comic fans, cinema fans, who thinks that keaton was a total mistake as batman or bruce wayne. And that is a fact. Same with the man spider movies.

Well, first of all, tell Mr. Parker that. Second, there is an origin scene in the first movie, when he's watching Jack's broadcast. Now, why can't we forget about this already? And again, tell Mr. Parker that there are no winners or losers. As he said this, "Kilmer won this argument a long time ago." Keaton will always be my favorite, but we are all entitled to our own opinion.

Well that's debating. Adam West was a good silver age Batman with his corny suit and all. But hey, it was the 60s.

for the time i think west was perfectly representing the comics, ive posted before about it. i think they both portrayed the comics of their eras perfectly...
