Clooney was ok. Not all bad. Just mostly.
Sorry i would have to disagree with that.
You said he mostly then why would you want him to play batman? You don't want an actor who plays batman Mostly bad. So I think he is bad, and so was a lot of other things with that movie.
I consider 'Batman' the culprit when it comes to false portrayals of the character. Since it served as a stark contrast to the horrendously colorful 60's tv show, somehow it implanted the idea in people's heads that this is the reality of Batman. Those who wanted an escape route from the cheery 60's series, automatically fell for the ridiculously dark tones of this one.
While a dramatic shift from the bright tights of Adam West, it was not a change for the better. At this point and time the Batman franchise fell prey to the whole going to the extreme thing. The movies shifted from too bright and colorful to too dark and disturbing. And since Batman inherently is assosiated with anything dark, fans went 'woah we have our batman!'
The film exploited it's dark tone, messed around with the very basics, the very essence of Batman and molded something that I will label, a mere shadow of, just so I'm putting it mildly, the original character. Yes, a film is supposed to be an adaptation, but by that it doesn't mean you mess with the elements that make a character.Because once they have been meddled with, the final product just doesn't stay the same. I don't want my Batman to be rendered as someone who'd recklessly gun down all in his path, thank you very much. The Batman/Joker relationship is very tense and fascinating as it is and there is NO need WHATSOEVER to change the events of the night when Bruce's parents were murdered so that Joker becomes their killer. HAving the clown as the killer, what the hell did that add to Batman? Did it elevate Joker's status as Batman's worst enemy in any way?! It was implied that Batman is made of same stuff as the Joker, well news flash it is NOT!
At least the Adam West series didn't pretend to be what it wasn't. Batman 89 was one the the BIGGEST cinematic mistakes ever make under Batman's namesake.
kEATON?KEATON?THE GUYS HOULD EAT COW DUNG!!!!!
Say a few decades from now, ppl make a movie based on the life of Angelina Jolie. And the cast...someone similar in body shape to Calista Flocakrt...HOW would THAT seem?

Stop with the cow poo stuff already! I agree, they should have left Joe Chill his role in Bruce's life but Batman didn't gun down everyone in his path. The machine guns on his batmobile didn't kill anyone. They were used to make a door for the batmobile to drive in and get into Axis Chemicals. And the the bomb was used to destroy Axis Chemicals not to kill everybody. It wasn't Batman's fault that the goons were crowding his ride. No, BATMAN was probably the best of the four.(tied only to Batman Returns) I actually prefer Batman as dark as they can get him without him getting too scary. Burton's films had a better tone than BTAS in my mind.(a red sky. 😆 Crisis on infinite Earths anyone?)
Burtons batman movies suck because they were more like a james Bond movie than a batman movie the way he killed people in such cowardly fashion like when he had the batmobile go into the jokers hideout and drop the bomb in front of his goons. His life was never in danger,he was never even in the batmobile. That was such a cowardly act of his and so unbatman like. 😠 some people just dont get that though. 🙄

wrong, it was axis chemicals, not jokers hideout. they were making the stuff that was poisoning everybody. it wasn't cowardly, it was efficient...

Come on, it was cowardly. He could beat those guns without kill them. in the comics, batman never kill. To kill another people for killing is makes of him as criminal as the criminal.
Yeah that is so true.that was all so inexcusable.
anyways since the topic is Keaton or West,West since he was good for his time.Keaton was NEVER good for the time for ANY Batman movie. 😠
