I don't understand why you would hate Brownbeard, he's a generic beard bear-like pirate, he could be unnamed and you wouldn't even notice he's there. Against Danzo? A lot of the bad things that happened in the manga can be directly linked to him. But why bring him up?

Against Brownbeard, it's more simple. I hate feeling like the author wants me to feel bad for a guy who is so pathetic that Basil decided was not worth killing. In Brownbeard, I see a guy who went out to try and make a name for himself and nothing more. He likes his crew? Yay I guess.

Danzo should be in every discussion.

He also saved the Strawhats, which is kind of the only decent thing he has done so far actually. For me BB is like an everyday pirate, not some glory hogger like Luffy nor some maniac like Kidd, and he fits that "everyday" character well, I mean he just tries stuff even if he cannot match the big guys. Oda is simply playing an stereotype he uses VERY often, considered how many characters are outmatched against the monsters the SH face. Nothing special, I don't see the point of hating something so generic...

Well yeah. But Luffy is at the very least a hero on top of it. Brownbeard is just a douche. A douche that can be very grateful to people who help him, but a douche.

Trust me, I'm pretty sympathetic to people who are genuinely sorry for things they've done.

Do you have anything against douches? You can argue that BB has some kind of "honor" so far, he was serving Caesar who he considered his savior and then he switched sides as to oppose him, he seems loyal to his crew.

Again, I don't have high expectations from giant bearded guys who scream their own names.

Oh no lol. I tend to always have a villain on my favorite characters list. It's just Oda seems to want me to feel sympathy for Brownbeard and I don't in the slightest.

The Alabasta and Drum Island scenes are taken from the movies.

I was talking about the stuff in the first minute. They're ridiculously bright and pretty for being from episodes at the very crappy start of One Piece.
