This all makes me wonder exactly how Arlong was so weak. Even Hodi doesn't seem as bad as him now.

He really wasn't all that weak; he was the only person in the entire East Blue to really give Luffy a tough fight without a constant distraction like Krieg had.

If it wasn't for him using bribes to keep his bounty low (I think it says something he used bribes and was *still* the highest bounty person in that ocean!), I'd peg him as someone able to get up in the 60 mil range.

He would've destroyed Bellamy for sure, and probably beaten a fair number of sub bosses from later arcs.

Don't confuse 'show up early' with weak.

Hm, yea.

Croc's still really really powerful despite appearing early on, like the War showed.

Base Hodi is basically like Arlong only a bit more-so. Maybe 30% stronger.

I doubt we'll be seeing any Fishmen above Jinbei's level personally. And to be fair, Jinbei is really strong, he showed himself to be at least on par with Luffy.

Not stronger than Jinbei, but more ones who are strong. Like, a crew with Supernova types, or a captain who's almost as strong as Jinbei.

The Whitebeards had a fishman division commander.

ugh! I wish the show was over, and I still had stuff to catch up on. It was really fun just watching everything from beginning to end. Now that I'm caught up, it is really tedious to watch/read.

in fact, this whole arc has gone stale and lame, and the excitement of the Strawhats new powers and reunion have quickly worn off due to this dragging arc...

the only consolation is that we KNOW it will get better after this, just thinking of the (groups of) people waiting for them in the New World makes me dizzy with anticipation...

Well, is not the better arc I've read but I'm sure it happens most of the time when you read the slower arcs real time. Thriller Bark is quite fun to read but back in the day it must've been a drag.

Well Luffy's never killed someone he's fought so I doubt Hodi's will die.

I personally though luffy would try to destroy the ship but oh well.

...I was just about to re-read the new chapter, and I realized something. The birds, on the cover, aren't they supposed to all be ALWAYS have their beaks pointed in the same direction? Or am I forgetting a fact or two?

Under the image there was a name "the North bird", but the originals were South Birds weren' they?

The only reason Hodi managed to hurt Luffy is because he didn't sh_t stomp him from the get to go.

The new volume has a print run of 4 million. For comparison, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix got 2.9. So it's like 1 1/3 Harry Potter books every volume at this point.

And it's up an entire million from 5 volumes ago!
