HOlding doors open is sexism? How dumb. I like having doors opened for me, I like having chairs pulled out for me, I don't reckon it's sexist at all, it's good manners!
I can think all this because men don't talk down to me. I've never had this problem. They look down at me though (because I'm 5'2 I reckon). Anyway, I think women invite that kind of thing (I'm not starting a fight here). It's just that if you can handle yourself and your debates clearly and logically, then there's no gap to be "spoken down" to. Also, maybe they're not talking down to you. Maybe certain women just think so because that's what they've been taught to think.
Who can say? Logic wins the day (damn that's cheesy) ๐
Moneypenny is right.
Men look down on other men, it happens within genders also. Yet as she said, if you don't give anyone any room or reason to look down ON you then they wont be able to. I've had many older men try to silence me in a debate just because I'm 18 but I stood my ground and proved myself and you can't deny real knowledge, charisma, potential or confidence. Prove you've got these just as much as your supposed "superiors" and you'll be fine.
