I'm not applying what I said to all Americans either, just to clarify.I just find it quite BS (and I'm not defending my country or it's people here) that Europe are gonna take the blame and be called snobby bastards who don't worry about our own country but America instead. If America tried living in the now and smarten up rather than putting Bush back in office, our relationship (politically) with the US might be more Friend-Friend rather than Bully-Sidekick. Wirh Blair it's the British peoples opinion VS George Bush, guess what? He aint backing us.

Just in case you didn't see the US election... about 48% of America agrees with you.
It's that other 52% that we have to get rid of that's bogging down our country.
Religion is a MAJOR factor that's holding us down. 52% of Americans apparently don't know what "seperation of church and state" means. All religion does is bring back some old ass traditions and very notable bigotry.
Apart from religion, ignorant rednecked gun-humping hicks are holding this country back as well. They vote for someone who is like them because they are too insignificant to do anything important. They want to see someone similar to them be successful, when they never could be.
Yes, Americans are the most arrogant people on the planet.

Absolutely agreed! That's why the U.S. is so full of liberals. Our country wouldn't be free if it wasn't for those well educated and caring liberals. When in doubt ask the liberals they will tell you the truth about everything.
I can't tell if that was sarcasm or not...
There is nothing wrong with being liberal. In fact, if you take a look back, the only thing liberals have done is help the country. There are 3 major things the liberal have implemented. Civil rights, social security, and medicare. I dare someone to find anything morally wrong with any of the 3, OR find ONE republican who doesn't take advantage of any one of the three.
I actually like most americans. They're generally nice people. But it seems the US is still stuck in isolationism to a certain degree. This wouldnt be so much of a problem if the US wasnt the most influencial country. I have a real thing against the US environmental policy because there seems a distinct lack of it. Yet most of Europe (paricularly Germany) is working its arse off to try and bring an end to stuff like global warming, yet the impact is not enough because countries like the US will not play their part.

At least we by a majority take the time to know about your country and what goes on in it, being the ally that we are...
I challenge you to find a Brit who still believes there's cowboys and indians running around the US. Never happen. Americans more often than not believe the English stereotype they are fed and actually take it as fact, which is why many Americans are surprised when they come here.
I dont know exactly what you mean by the "cowboys and indians" statement, but I have two good friends who are full blooded Dakota people, and there are people who could be classified as "cowboys" that, also still exist. If your meaning that they arent running around shooting each other, you arent familiar with the AIM during the 1970's.
The United States is still imprisoning Leonard Peltier in connection to those events... shit like that still goes on.
I get you point, its a good point... but had to point that out.
All good, I didn't mean to generalise. But I mean our stereotypical heritages. More people in America actually believe ours is still upheld than vice versa because as someone said, the nations populace are rather ignorant to the world around them.
America, considering it's young compared to us, need to realise that it needs the world just as much as the world needs it. It has to much of a "Yeah we're fine on our own" standpoint with Bush at the helm.

The English (as opposed to British) dislike of the French stems from the events of 1066, when William the Bastard killed the real King of England and took his place... since then we have been a subject race... I could point out that because of this, an animal in the field is English, but when killed for meat it becomes French... because we raised them, but our lords and masters got to eat them.. even our overlords have played on this dislike, saying at various times "We are as English as you... now fight for us so we can get our old lands in France back..." because the Norman and Angevin Kings in England had a claim to the French throne, and held onto that claim for centuries, France became our traditional enemy... down to two lots of French nobles who wanted what the others had... we just did the dirty work for them... this is also why it is seen as more socially acceptable in England to drink wine than it is to drink beer.... wine is French, beer English... but back on topic... Blair is a PM for the MTV generation... he governs by soundbite and has no substance.... the only English politicians worth anything were Enoch Powell, Oswald Mosely, Tony Benn, Ken Livingstone, Norman Tebbit, and David Taylor....
Yea Tony blair's an arse but there is no party that appeals to the majority. The lib dems are too pro europe, the tory's arent appealing because a lot of people think they're a shambles and they seem unable to choose a leader that appeals to the public, UKIP's considered too right wing, the green party too pro europe as well... So it looks like we're going to be stuck with TB for another 4/5 yrs.
I actually like Tony Blair. He likes music, plays guitar, likes footie and can be very witty in "normal" interviews ala his interview on the Chris Moyles show. I honestly believe he has the countries best intentions at heart but is easily bullied and perhaps works with one hand tied behind his back and tries to keep to many people happy ie Bush on one side and the British public on the other.
