Thor Movie

Started by Zack Fair62 pages

Dear Odin...please use your divine might to speed time up. I cannot wait to watch the son of Asgard kicking ass. It has come to the point that I keep watching the part in Hulk vs Thor when Thor taunts Hulk/Loki by summoning MJOLNIR when Loki was trying to lift it and he says "NAY You are having THUNDER!!!" and then fries Hulkster

This film has been getting amazing reviews almost universally. A lot of fans and critics are throwing theirs in currently, and all of it is positive. Last I checked, it had a rating of 94% on Rotten Tomato. I cannot wait for this.

After seeing it id give it a solid 8/10.

Okay just saw this.

It was much better than I expected.

It was a good movie, but I do not feel it is as brilliant as people are saying.

A solid 7/10 comic book movie. Definitely watch it.

......

Ok some specific points:

- Didn't think Chris would be that great as Thor, but now I see he fits him well.

- Really liked all the other cast. I thought Hopkins would just be Hopkins, but I really loved his performance.

- Really liked Thor's action scenes, shows some of his abilities, but I would have loved to some moar lightning blasts, maybe while shouting "for Asgard!" or something like that.

- End fighting scene really wasn't as good as I would've liked. Doesn't compare to the ones before it in the film. Thats one of my gripes with the film. The generic final battle, that wasn't spectacular by the way. Would've liked something clever.

- I really liked the Hawkeye cameo. Cooler than the video clips released before the film would have you think. I can tell I like Jeremy as Clint.

- Nice Stan Lee cameo. And really funny reference to Tony Stark, not too many people understood it in the cinema I watched it at though.

- Apparently there is a reference to Hulk? Something I read but must have missed.

- Post-credits scene was pretty cool. Cooler than all the other ones.

- Please don't hate, but Superman from Returns would rape this Thor (this was what I thought watching the movie, how he would be Marvel's answer to DC's big gun, surely its a consideration Marvel had, and don't say Hulk, he is a small fry). I would've liked him to be physically more powerful even though he did have probably two or three good level showings.

- Finally I liked how they were able to integrate the plot and scenes from different worlds (Midgard, Asgard, Santa's World) nicely, that was well done.

- After watching this, I am definitely hyped for The Avengers. Heck I even want to watch Captain America now just for some Avenger references, cameos and post-credit scenes =D

The reviews are positive, not "amazing" as you suggest.

Well, sorry. I'm a little excited. Sue me.

You are entitled to exercise your right as a fanboy. Nothing wrong with that.

They actually showed more of his abilities than I expected.. The speed he whirls his hammer out, deflecting Energy blasts, flying pretty damn fast, instant lightning shots, and an instant hurricane.

Sure we wanna see more, but for a first movie I was quite happy with his power display..

I totally agree. Even though it was a good film, I think the end fight stopped it from being a Really Great movie.. So I still think Iron Man is the best marvel movie, though this came close and could have matched it with a more climatic end fight..

I heard some reference to Gamma experiments from Jane's uncle.. Missed exactly what he said though..

I Hate You! Kidding.. I always say its better to make a good movie than to focus on how powerful the hero is, but I actually thought he seemed pretty damn powerful!

I didnt see any limits to his strength or power.. Sure he didnt go around lifting Islands, but he did smash the rainbow bridge.. I know he did that with his hammer, but still Im guessing that would take some serious strength!

Don't look now, but it's up to 95% at rottentomatoes. Out of 40 reviews, only 2 are rotten. At that rate, it's going to be well received by almost everyone.

It's gonna be epic.

the last few comic book movies that were getting scores that high in rottentomatoes were Spiderman 1 & 2, Iron Man, and The Dark Knight Returns...

and we all know how those movies turned out... they've become synonymous with how to do comic movies right.

It's funny, because I'd say the end fight was Iron Man's biggest problem aswell.

And yet we manage to get a shithouse adaption of Jonah Hex when it should've been like those movies.

I have just seen Thor with the cinema, it is really well, is a good Movie !!!

Just watched it. Yeah, liked it. No long boring scenes like in Iron man 2, good plot. The guy that played Thor surprisingly did very well. Loki was awesome.

Just saw it, it's ****ing AWESOME! only thing I missed is a "for Asgaaard!" yell 😛

The Japanese trailer for THOR features a lot more of Hogun The Grim.

(Smart marketing I guess, since Tadanobu Asano is one of Japan's biggest stars. 😄 )
