Marvel Studios Strikes Back
I saw it twice, the same day, cause I needed to check it accurately. At first the movie was fine, the beginning make it very promising, great CGI, and most of the actors seemed to be in character, but since Thor fell on Earth, it grew into an amount of crap. Marvel's gonna break the record for screwing characters in movie adaptations.
Now let me explain:
.THE DESTROYER
One of Odin's most powerful creations, a suit of armor, made of Uru, made to defend them from the threat of the Celestials, here is reduced to a retarded robocop, who walks slow as a turtle, and is basically blasting things here and there like a second rate villain. The destroyer has a vast array of offensive abilities, can fly, and is also incredibly fast and durable, but here, it's not even a shadow of what it is. I mean Sif passing through uru with a sword? Come on...
.HEIMDALL, SIF AND THE WARRIORS THREE
Well, Heimdall is black. Asgardian are the norse gods, but Heimdall is black. I mean WTF? And Heimdall is the guardian of bifrost and asgard, but bifrost isn't opened and close by his sword being stucked into a magical device. Sif and the Warriors Three, damn these guys looked weak as hell, no superstrength showing, no super durability showing, they just slashed from frost giant and then got curbstomped by the destroyer, actting like a bunch of power rangers, on a bad day. Only thing saving them was the acting which mimicked good the comics.
THOR
Physically, Hemworth's look like Thor indeed, and I like him in the role, but then again, Marvel's gotta screw things. Becoming mortal, alright, struggling to understand what he must do, alright. Killing the Destroyer in barely 1 minute? It took lot of effort to Thor to defeat that thing when he faced it, now just couple blows and there you go. Also, since when he needs bifrost to travel? Mjolnir can open dimensional gates instantly. And where
were the horsed wings? Meh...Also, Thor's strength ain't much showed here, I mean this a superhero movie, about a guy who can hold on his shoulders a skyscraper, and we only saw him flipping a huge table...bah....we get to see him fly and use a bit of his powers only in the end, in a supposedly climatic fight with Loki, which if you ask me, ain't even in the league of those of Hercules The Legendary Journeys starring Kevin Sorbo.
LOKI
A magician of Doc Strange level, with a vast array of powers, wielding the Odin Force, cannot beat Thor?? Nuiff Said

Caught the first midnight show of it last night, just before it opened today. Definitely an 8.5 out of 10; maybe I will revise it upwards after a second viewing, as it grows on me and I can spot more easter eggs. Chris Hemsworth is an awesome Thor; also high praise for Anthony Hopkinds as Odin and Colm Feore as Laufey. Favourite sequences include the 2nd clash with the Frost Giants on Jotunheim, and all the God-out-of-water comedy on Earth.
So that wasn't a Cosmic Cube we saw Loki handling in the trailers, it was The Casket Of Ancient Winters.

Spoiler:When I have time, I'll have to do some digging.
The Infinity Gauntlet, the Eternal Flame, the Warlock's Eye (It's not the Eye of Agamatto apparently), and the Casket of Ancient Winters. I don't know what the other two are and it's kind of pissing me off. Perhaps the big slab is the forge for Mjolnir?
I didn't catch the
Spoiler:-and I've watched it twice- so it's either in the deleted scenes or in a very brief shot.
Infinity Gauntlet
Is there different running times for this? When it was near to being released, it was annnounced as 2 hours 10 minutes. But it's running time here is 1 hour 55 minutes. I just heard the audio review from the guys at Spill.com (they're based in Austin TX, and it's very positive) and they are talikng about it's length as 2 hours 10 minutes.
Or was it just the critics screenings that were that long, and they decided to cut some things for release?
I think so. I watched the movie twice in theaters and even some of the same scenes were different takes than the one shown in France etc.
It's weird, like the Studio doesn't know which cut to release or released a slightly different version to the general audience in North America.
Looking forward to the DVD release and the nearly 30 minutes of deleted footage.
