I dont want 3D 🙁

Somethings gotta give way...

Watched in 3D yesterday. I would recommend finding a 2D screening, there was quite a bit of motion blur in the action sequences.

Good movie but again let down by poor 3D. Will probably go see it again in 2D if I get time. Not quite as good as Ironman but a solid 7/10.

it was a great movie actually, but sadly it did not live up to my expectations, and the 3D was pretty bad too.

Acting, comic relief, and plot was pretty damn decent. Shame the action wasn't all that.

Might knock my rating down to 8.5 but still a good marvel flick up there with the others from Marvel Studio's.

It's first rollout weekend, it's No.1 in the world at the box office!

And this week it FINALLY opens in it's home territory of North America. 💃

With our Box office in Australia its Number 2, That Fast Five has beat it.

Doc Strange referance spotted

I noticed the Eye of Agamotto.

Spoiler:
was in the room that the frost giants casket was kept.
Didn't realise what I had saw straight away though.

Some very good references to other marvel characters in this, really bringing the universe together.

What I liked most about the movie was the pace, characterization/acting(pretty good for the type of movie it is) and how it kind of established a lot of lore in just 2 hours.

I want the 2nd movie to take place only in Asgard. It was beautiful and really felt otherworldly/godly to me.

- Apparently there is a reference to Hulk? Something I read but must have missed.

Selvig says

Spoiler:
he knew a scientist working on gamma ray experiments, and then SHIELD showed up after him and he never heard of him again

Just saw it. I liked it, though it was rather weak. The end fight is anticlimatic, and the Destroyer barely scratching a 2 blocks/Hollywood lot desert town wasn't all that epic... specially since the the fight in the frozen world was better (tough not that great)

It has promise for a better sequel

7/10

I also liked Hawkeye and Stan Lee's cameo

I had to watch it in 3D, and I did not want to, specially since I knew the 3D was weak... the only good 3D was the Destroyer... everything else was flat... just watch the rocks when Thor's party goes to the Frozen giants world and the camera sweeps in their position, they look like a cardboard diorama, in 3D... but completely flat.

I just had to since it was the only original version 10pm showing, all others were dubbed versions 😐

Watched it in 2D. A bit sick of 3D. Also I often wear glasses and putting those 3d things on top is a pain in the ass.

So what did you think about black Heimdal? I personally loved him and think he did better in the role than any white actor could (not white guilt)

Best performance goes to Tom Hiddleston though, he did absolutely fantastic.

Aside from the Eye of Agamotto and a Hulk-related reference, were there any other Easter eggs you guys noticed?

Was there an after the credits end scene? If so, what happened?

I only ask because I likely won't be going to the theaters to see this film...

Spoiler:
We get a short scene at the end that shows a main character is possessed by an entity closely tied to the Avengers. The person it is possessing is trusted enough that Nick Fury is showing them mankinds greatest discovery......a cosmic cube.
Spoiler:
The Infinity Gauntlet, the Cosmic Cube, Casket of Ancient Winters etc. are trinkets in Odin's vault. As they should be. King of the Universe and all.
