You seem too know absolutely nothing about Cortana, for one thing when she is in the Chiefs suit, she can hack into otherr parts of her surroundings, have you ever even played the first Halo? She does it like 3 tiems i think in the game.
I don't think that there is anything wrong with refering to the Halo books. I've only read the Fall of Reach. Give some examples of what Cheif Petty Officer John aka Master Cheif can do. I don't see how he is any different from the games except for the limited use of his arms.

Honestly though. I totally respect Manga and Anime. Its all very cool, but in video-games it does not look the best. I think that CG is the way to go now. Anime should stay on paper and pictures, its not for the game-play. Nintendo has some weird studios, seriously. The only good manga on a video-game is the well of eternity series, written by Richard A. Knaak and illustrated by a Korean.

Actually, Dark Samus is Metroid Prime inside the Phazon Suit.
And yes, I WOULD like to see Chief's specs. I've asked for them many times, but my requests have yet to be answered.
As for anime/manga, it really depends. The style is perfect for RPGs, as the Final Fantasy series has shown us, as well as Namco's "Tales" series. Also, if a game is 2D, manga will usually work.
That being said, I was appalled to see Samus's face at the end of Echoes. They changed it to the style set by Super Metroid, true, but for 3D, they really should have kept the face structure from the end of Prime.
Okay I'm going to give a few more reasons why I think Samus will win.
Training: MC was trained by humans in a military camp for the sole reason to fight the Convent, he has excellent fighting capability and is a master of many firearms. Samus was trained by the Chozo a race who had mastered warfare long ago, she has complete mastery of her armour and can adapt quickly to new upgrades. she has also been trained for combat in enviroments MC can't go near.
Winner: Samus
Armour: Both combatants armour have the added benifit of a shield, however both MC'sshield and suit are very weak. He can not take many shots before he dies. Samus' armour can be damaged by steping on a bug with some spikes however her armour holds a massive amount of energy for her shield, at full power it's gonna take a lot of ammo to take her down.
Winner: Samus
Mobility: MC really loses out here Samus is faster, can dash while strafing, can jump much higher and has the ever versitile morph ball. she can reach places MC can't and plan a surprise attack

Targeting: MC has to rely on a tiny radar that only tells him the direction the enemy is in. Apart from that it's all guess work and luck. Samus has no radar for long range detection but when fighting she has a number of visors that can locate hidden enimies, Thermal, X-Ray and Echo and her scan visor to locate weaknessess. MC cn not hide in this battle

Weapons. MC can carry only two guns Human or Convent, these guns have only a limited amount of ammo and only the Human guns can be reloaded. He also carries grenades from both camps but I don't doubt that Samus could dodge these. Samus has four beams at her disposal that don't run out of power. Power (standered) Wave (electric) Ice (ice) and Plasma (heat) the charge beam can increase the power she also carries missiles that she can fuse with a charge beam to create combo weapons like super missiles and flamethrowers and she carries bombs and power bombs.

ENEMIES---OK, lets look at the types of enemies they've been fighting. The master chief has killed elites before, which are fundamentally equal to the chief(energy sheilds, weapon weilding abliity, grenade throw). Even though they are supposed to be the equivalent to the MC, look at how many Elites he has killed! And look at Samus, who has barely had to fight her equal self at full strength...the only two replicas i've seen are the SA-X(Fusion), and Dark Samus(Echoes).
MC SUIT SPECS- The suit's inner layer is a cloth layer, surrounded by a bio-gel layer that has temperature control, it changes temperature to keep the Chief at normal comfortable temperature. Next is a thick crystal layer(the one chich houses Cortana and other possible AI's.) next is a layer that gathers & amplifies force(which lets him flip tanks and stuff). Still next is a black inner-weave layer(the one just under the green plates), next the green plates, next the glass refracting layer. And teh energy sheilds.
You do have a very good point there, except on the mobility one I would say that they may be equal. After all the MC is like, what is it? 3 times faster than a normal human? And even if Samus's suit does hold a massive amount of power for her shield, MC get's an upgrade that makes recharge faster, and it's stronger, you can clearly hear it stated in the first level of Halo 2.
Okay everyone has been posting why they think the otehr should win, so here's why I think MC should win.
1. Due to the Chiefs intense training as a child, and then his drugs injected into him as a teen (Reflex inhanser and so on) he IS faster but not by much, and that gives him a bit of an upper hand.
2. The chief is trained to adapt to his environment, if he finds a weapon he doesn't know how to use, well he learns how to use it. He is a perfect piece of cobat art.
3. The chiefs suit is just as good as Samus's, it has 7 layers, which protect him from the normal consequences that a marine would have affecting him, such as too hot, too cold, fatigue and so on.
4. The chief as an AI that is programmed to hack, and hack she will do. She can jump around channels, and has never failed in her hacking proceedings. She notifies him about hisd "blind spots" such as behind him, that he cannot see.
5. Samus can only use items attached to her arm, which would be very hard to find in a game. This would render her only able to use her primary weapon.
6. Both Samus and MC have shields on there suits. Earlier in this forum someone stated that Samus's suit has a bigger stcokpile of energy than the Chiefs. This is completely wrong, they both have a fair amount of energy to supply teher shields, the only disadvantage aboout Samus's suit is that it cannor recharge.
7. It was also stated that earlier that Samus's suit can readily adapt to new upgrades, and the technology is more superior. Well I can agree that it might be just as superior as the Chiefs, but the Chiefs suit can also adapt to new changes, has anyone in this forum even played the first level of Halo 2?
8. Once again it was stated if a 7 ton wathog traveling at 75mph where to hit Samus, it would bounce off of her like a particle of dust, would someone mind giving me some evidence of that please!?!
I think I need to make this clear. Master Cheif's suit is not seven layers of protective armor, it is a seven layerd suit. In The Fall of Reach, one plasma bolt burned through an unsheilded Spartan with one shot. His sheild can only take as much as one of Samus's energy tanks. Samus's suit is superior to Mjolnir in every way, every feature of it has already been stated. At the beggining of Halo 2, Cheif's gets in an almost brand new suit modified by techs. Samus gets to upgrade her suit on the feild right upon acquiring new technology.
An Elite in no way an equal to Master Cheif. Elites are as strong with a better sheild. Master Cheif is faster and smarter than them. Samus is stronger than all of them, she can rip and tear through walls and enemies. She uses the Speed Boost and the Screw Attack to do those things. We already know she is faster and has more dexterity. She is also way more intelligent and partially psychic, as players will understand when playing a Metroid game.
If you've played a 2-D Metroid, you'll know that some of Samus's beams can pass through walls. One possible scenario is Samus with the X-ray visor blasting enemy through the walls.
And Yes, a Warthog would bounce off of Samus and Samus would bounce backwards. Have you seen the size of some of the Bosses she fights? Her armor sheild has always held strong, even when she is getting crushed by something. A Warthog would definitly be totalled hitting her.
You Halo worshipers must get it through yours heads, Samus's suit is superior to Master Cheif's. It has no limit to the power it can acquire, it can keep getting better no matter what. In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, her fully upgraded Light Suit would receive "bee sting" damage from a projectile weapon in Halo 2. (One shot from the Sonic gun or one missle and Master Cheif would be vaporized, I don't care how strong or cool you think he is)
