Master Chief vs Samus Aran

In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, a particular enemy can hack Samus's Suit. It renders Samus's visors and battle computer inoperable. To counter it's effects, Samus must reboot her entire system. In multiplayer, Hunters can hack each other's suits if they get an upgrade for it.

Breaking into Samus's suit would probably be a very quick job, I agree with dark1365. However, if Samus reboots, she will be fine. Samus may also be able to hack into Cortana, in Metroid Prime 1 the Space Pirates complain that the security on their computers was easily being hacked by Samus. So the hacking war goes both ways. Now we have Cortana vs. Samus Aran.

Cortana only has an expected life span of 8 years, the reason for this is because she is continously learning and adapting and will eventually overload with information

Talking about ships the UNSC have good ships and only really have one weapon that is effective againts the Covenant, that is the MAC cannon but it takes a while to charge up. They also have 3 nukes onboard plus they have their onboard defences

it's seven years.

also, from what I heard on Ilovebees.com smart AI have a lifespan of 7 years, and they think themselves crazy, not dead. and then they go RAMPANT!! so the navy kills them at 7 years.

I never mention dead but you seemed to stress that point. But anywhoo I was just expressing an interesting point.

They took Dr. Halsey's brain and basically cloned it and used the best clone of it to create Cortana. She can work and think, exactly as a human. The only reason she is so good at hacking is because, she ISN'T hindered by Parameters.

Cortana is a "smart" AI, which means that creativity can grow unchecked. She hacks for fun, and when she gets bored. She gets bored every five milliseconds. ONI's screwed.

You are very right, Cortana can hack something by mearly looking at it, but she can implant herself into a system alone, what about the Pillar of Autumn, she does the same thing on Delta Halo.

cortana is on a chip board that must be implanted somewhere in a network...The chipset (or hardware) that cortana is on, has to physically come into contact with an outlet in a network.. such is the case with chiefs helmet, and the pillar of autumn, which has a podium specifically for her usage. Samus' suit has no such outlets, which in my opinion renders this whole cortana argument useless.

Does Samus have any communications? Cortana tends to jump around on signals alot. If Samus did hack his suit, all it would effect is the crystal-like layer that Cortana resides in. Cortana would just follow Samus' method back into her own suit, that isn't very hard.

Samus definitely has a disadvantage when it comes to hacking. Her suit components and movement can be affected by hacking, whilst the Chief's suit wouldn't be affected; the only thing Samus can do when hacking Chief is get rid of Cortana, and with Cortana's knowledge of security diagnostics, I doubt that will happen. Also, Cortana is a computer, which means that she is way faster than Samus's hack visor(she hacked into ONI in about 70 milliseconds.)

Whats ONI?.. some halo book crap?.. I thought we were sticking to 'games' only... no fanfics or 3rd party publications..
also i'd consider cortana more of a viral AI program rather than a computer... computer would need constant cooling making calculations at that speed.. and considering she's only on a silicon chip I doubt that would happen...

Wow that is one, ahem, messed up picture... I think her **** are in the wrong place...

Oh, thats just the art style.. I think its something about long legs give the character a more hero like stature.. Like how this one has a very stout posture to emphasize on strength

Whereas the Fusion samus artstyle is more about flexibility and crazy poses

Aye, Nintendo has some really great artists, but have you even seen the Halo art book. It is so much more realistic. I think art is completely opinion but Halo seems much more detailed and finished than all the Metroid I have seen, and Samus has been around for how long?

Samus's Gravity/Varia suit lacks finesse..what's with the balloon shoulder pads?

You seem too know absolutely nothing about Cortana, for one thing when she is in the Chiefs suit, she can hack into otherr parts of her surroundings, have you ever even played the first Halo? She does it like 3 tiems i think in the game.

Metroid has mostly been japanese artists hehe.. they do anime remember?.. also when the prime arc hit, retro studios made some really awesome bonus concept artwork that you can see on the met prime disc http://cube.ign.com/articles/536/536510p1.html?fromint=1 is a decent article on the art of prime.. dunno where actual high res artwork might be found though..
