Master Chief vs Samus Aran

satsujin please you really need to get your facts right before you post if you read the first post i put up i told you i was told by my friend who has read the halo book's the in's and out's of what master cheif could do.

so already your first sentence has been smashed.

and i have already told you the strength that he posesses he already has enchanced strength normally but the suit he wears empowers him with even more strength and now i will give an example from the game

when you play halo 1 or 2 when you beat people around the head it could take you like two good hits to put them out for good especially if you use shotgun at the same time as well.

I am sure you have done this several times in game as have others

this is a representation and a testament to the type of strength that i and others have said he has.

not only that but he can flip tanks and the like

also i have told you i am not a fanboy i just want the right character to win this match which shuld be MC

i have played all the metroids and am currently going through echoes i have just got the dark gun and the dark suit or whatever it is and the next game i am gonna get is probably Zelda Wind waker and the new Zelda which is coming out soon

I am not even into halo i prefer as you know beat em' ups like stf and tekken and DOA.

but let's not cause this to create any bad blood or anything it's just a stupid thread.

Yeah, but Dark, Samus' history is actually IN the games. The manuals, prologues, and mid-game sequences all form her story, not separate novels. The closest thing Samus has to a novel is the brief Super Metroid comic series, and the information that gave about Samus was directly from the game itself.

And I'm pretty sure that several pages back, we ruled out the written stuff, on the basis that the argument was about the video game characters.

Halo didn't really put much into history because Bungie decided that it should be a game, not a book. They valued gameplay over storyline, and face it, isn't that what we all look for anyways?

But when Eric Nylund comes along wanting to write the history of the Chief and the UNSC, they agree, thinking it might get them a bit more money. Eric gives them the manuscript, the whole of Bungie's Halo crew reads through it and approves. So that's basically official, since it IS technically from Bungie themselves, they could've done anything to the manuscript they wanted(probably did too).

Now you have Samus on the other side. The Metroid series were developed by Nintendo, who were a big company at the time, prospering. They put the brief history into the game directly because they didn't want to enter the book franchise(they were a good game company anyways).

It doesn't really matter whether the information is found in books or the games themselves. As long as the actual developers approved/made it, it's valid.

I think we should quit arguing about the concept of Halo books put into action, they are official anyways.

I dunno. I've found that a really good storyline can make a game with mediocre gameplay excellent.

For example, the Fire Emblem games play pretty much like a chess game, but their detailed stories suck you in and make you say, "just one more level" over and over again.

And maybe it's just me, but I think I enjoyed finding all the pirate data scans in the Prime games more than simply shooting things.

Then already, the validity of your argument is null and void.. your friend should be here discussing samus vs chief and not you...simply because your "facts" have now become he-said, she-said and are no longer your own words..and this whole "getting "facts" straight" is totally rediculous.. they are science fiction characters.. these "facts" can only go so far... and for someone who's not trying to cause any bad blood.. you sure pop alot of crap... i.e. "I hate all of you because you dont listen to logic"
and me "Needing to get my facts right" (lmao)... this is a simple discussion thread.. noones been causing any kind of ruckus, til you jumped in.

satuujin i see you are determined not to lose this debate when i entered this thread all i was simply doing was trying to deliver the facts.

dude i could pick holes in your last post but i really don't care anymore

you and samus sympathizers have won this debate let's all just move onto other threads instead of dragging this one out any further

Some games are like that, especially Max Payne. Ten hours of shootdodging and figuring out where to go next isn't really all that appealing, but it's excellent storyline brought life into it.

OFF-TOPIC----- Satsujin, I think I saw you on WoW...some kinda tauren druid with a Japanese name right?

I think Master Chief would win

by the way........ who is Samus Aran

O_O ...

*faints from the above post*

Yeah, I mean 🤨.....

I had a dream last night that made me see them in more of a romantic sense, rather than enemies.....😬

Pick holes in whatever the hell you feel like.. if you dont care then whatever.. there was no need to mention it

samus "sympathisers" have been playing nintendo games since the 80's.. just because you're some new generation vid game fan doesnt mean you hold all authoritative facts upon every character.

And no.. the debate hasnt been 'won' persay.. its just at a dead end since noone else is voting.

I had a nightmare of that once...

Why it is bad

Satsujin posted that once, we had a good laugh about it.

There's a picture in this month's EGM (Phantasy Star Online cover) thats perfect for this thread.
Its in the PSP section of the magazine under PSP photos.
Its a picture of some dude dressed up in a Master Chief costume and some other dude dressed in a Samus Aran costume.
Samus Aran was taller so thats the reason she will kick MC's ass.

can i ask a question i have looked at a few posts back and people say that samus has chozo blood.

does nintendo state anywhere what attributes she get's from the chozo blood

Samus gains increased strength from the Chozo blood. That's why she can jump up to twice her height and actually wear the suit at all. There are other benefits, but I'm gonna have to dig my Metroid stuff out of my room and find it.

Hell, if I had a shotgun I could put out a hell of a lot of people in 1 or 2 hits too... (sorry, that just amused me too much not to point it out, I know what you were getting at)

Anyhoo, you still assume 2 things... Firstly, you assume that MC could kill Samus with one punch... If you have indeed played a number of Metroid games, do you have any freaking clue how much health Samus has at the end of her games? Second, you assume MC could get that close to Samus... Charge up cannon or plasma beams will put him down a good amount of time before he can get close enough to punch her. And them failing, 1 ice beam shot freezes him... Plus she can roll up into a ball and get away, if she decides to go all pacifist n shit.

Once again, I know MC has sniper abilities. However, I have already proven them quite useless, as he has no way of getting far enough away from Samus to effectively use them.

His strength is enhanced on its own and with the suit, so is her's. No using that as an argument for either. Same goes for agility and stuff.

And I say Samus has good tactics because her source of education was better... If one guy studied at Oxford for 4 years, and another guy studied at some unknown Junior College for 2, I'd assume the Oxford graduate is smarter, however high each of them were within their respective classes. (Chozo, race who mastered war=Oxford>Humans, who still have a ways to go in the war department=Junior college)

Chief has no advantages physically or in brain power (I actually give stats from both sides, please don't respond with "but chief kills people with punches, and samus is a gurl"😉 That said, it comes down to sheer firepower, and we all agree at least that Samus has the advantage there.

20 bucks says that GalacticStorm comes back with "I never said Samus isn't good, Chief is just better" or something to that effect. And now that I posted that, he'll get angry and say I'm Samus biased and that I don't know him, and that he has feelings too, and...

Anyways, please, for all intents and purposes, just consider both of them physically equal. You can't really prove either one better than the other there.

That's probly the only reason MC has more than like 3 1/2 votes... And he argues fanboyism...

Who says Master Chief can't use weapons from Metroid Prime? Fight fire with fire
