Two? Who says?

I don't know...some people put two spaces after a period when typing, I learned one...but the point is, spaces go after periods. Something that certain people on here don't seem to realize 🙄

It is generally accepted that the practice of putting two spaces at the end of a sentence is a carryover from the days of typewriters with monospaced typefaces. Two spaces, it was believed, made it easier to see where one sentence ended and the next began.

Presently, most computer fonts have built in logic that will lengthen the space inbetween a period at the end of one sentence and the first word of the next sentence.

I couldn't name a specific source that is of any particular grammatical organization or institute if that's what you're asking. I've just been taught that by every English teacher (and a few other teachers) ever since I was taught sentence structure in elementary school.

and in the case of some KMC users....a 2nd space wouldn't hurt.JM

😆 u are right link, good explanation.

I neither claim to be profoundly intelligent or a master of the english language, but there are a few people in here who can't spell for their fricken' life or string together one cohesive thought.

I know this ain't a spelling bee, and everyone makes mistakes, but for the love of god, a spellcheck button is right below where you write your post! Oh ya, and if you have no clue what a word means you got 2 choices, look it up, or don't use it!

Some people complain that people are picking on them because of how they write, well, if you write like an idiot, and communicate like an idiot, chances are...YOU"RE AN IDIOT!

There is nothing worse than to see an engaging, entertaining or damn funny post (whether I agree with the opinion or not) followed up by incoherent, nonsensical drivel. It's like someone sh_tting on my cornflakes in the morning!

Sorry folks, had to rant, I just couldn't take it anymore.

i'm terrible sorry, but it is too difficult for me not to make mistakes 🙁

*is an idiot* cry

To complain about other peoples grammar skill on an international message board where many dont have English as their first language is kind of ignorant and disrespectful. At least towards the non english speaking users that do an effort to communicate in a second language.

For those who have English as your natural/first language you should be ashamed about the poor use of your own language. If you are unsure of how a word is spelt use the spell checker. It might not make your grammar and positioning of the words correct, but at least they will be correctly written. Which again might lead to an easier understanding of what you intended to say. Cause if those who share your language have a problem with what the hell you try to say, think what problems foreigners have trying to understand it.

very nicely

*gives Link a coupon of 1 free hour X-rated fun with me to cheer up* 😱

One of these days Yersy.....I'm taking a week vacation and cashing in those coupons for a week worth of "cheering up"

it will be an unforgetful experience 😉

I'm going to duct tape you to a chair blindfolded in on coming traffic with a sign that says "honk if you're horny" if you keep this up.

I'm curious to the result 😱

Not wanting to sound tricky, Link... but you are only leaving single spaces after full stops. In fact, I think everyone does here, whether they want to or not.

Harsh to accuse people of not doing something they can't do. I teach English, and that sure as heck is not a proper rule.

I always give two periods after each sentence, but I have no problem if people prefer to use one. Mmm... spaces....

You put two full stops after each sentence?

That pedanticsm aside, look at your own posts. You'll see that is not happening.

The convention is false.
