Intelligent communication - I can't take it anymore!

Yes I am indeed, BF. Err, and it is a complex process. Which I will write up some time. Just I am too busy these days telling people not to end sentences with prepositions. Oops! Gave it away...

Oh, I know. My gf's told me a lot about the process. It's insane how much work goes into being a teacher. They really need to start paying them more.

I neither claim to be profoundly intelligent or a master of the english language, but there are a few people in here who can't spell for their fricken' life or string together one cohesive thought.

I know this ain't a spelling bee, and everyone makes mistakes, but for the love of god, a spellcheck button is right below where you write your post! Oh ya, and if you have no clue what a word means you got 2 choices, look it up, or don't use it!

Some people complain that people are picking on them because of how they write, well, if you write like an idiot, and communicate like an idiot, chances are...YOU"RE AN IDIOT!

There is nothing worse than to see an engaging, entertaining or damn funny post (whether I agree with the opinion or not) followed up by incoherent, nonsensical drivel. It's like someone sh_tting on my cornflakes in the morning!

Sorry folks, had to rant, I just couldn't take it anymore.

Let's see... You can use a few grammer and spelling lessons yourself. So don't pick fights when you are just as bad. Not every one is perfect. And this is a forum where expression is paramount. Speelin' dunt count 'ere. 'ere me bouy?

😆

I didn't claim to be perfect. Did you even read the first sentence? If you want to pick apart my grammar, go for it. My point was that I am tired of people who show a complete lack of effor communicating their own ideas.

But if some want to blissfully wallow in their own ignorance, far be it from me to not let them. But I don't have to like or endorse it.

Try teaching at a Catholic high school, talk about serious lack of $$$$, the public school teachers make more starting out than I do in my 15th year of teaching. 😖

Anybody else besides me notice that JM's iggey list grows daily and that almost everyone on there "is a jerk to me for no reason at all"? Funny how that works isnt it?

Heh...seriously, though, that's awesome that you teach...I'd be the worst teacher in the world due to the fact that I have no patience 😄 The only thing I would possibly want to teach is art, anyway...

You don't need patients as a teacher. They're called students.

BAD JOKE ALERT!

Patients or patience?

Can someone explain this to me?

Sound as tricky as you want Ush. I'm not on these boards to teach, i'm on these boards to learn.

I don't know if I follow you completely, but are you talking about the space itself or the number of times you hit the space bar? After a sentence....I always hit the space bar 2 times, then start a new sentence.

I most certainly don't have a proper reason for doing things that way, It's just the way I was taught and the way I have grown accustomed to seeing it.

Let me test something really quick

I hate it when I'm wrong. I love it when I'm right.

I almost can't believe my eyes - you are concerned with a double space after the period/full stop... but don't care that you use phrases like "Let me test something really quick".

It's a world gone mad.

It was already lying on the ground; no need to put a bullet in its head.

😆 Something good came out of it, after all 😆

A lot of people who could be classed as having bad grammar/English do it deliberately. In Britain we call them 'chavs', wannabe Eminems 'from the ghetto'. They do it 'cos 'its cool' no other reason, although in all fairness KMC is probably the place least exposed to this scurge....innit.

Always a pleasure to please you, Stormy...

Stormy? Hmm, seems like it' s becoming a trend...

Lily used to call me 'Ushy'. These things happen.

So, err, yeah. So long as it is comprehensible, I don't much mind what forum grammar is like. But if that leaks back into your formal English, a pox on you! Do it in an exam, and you deserve to fail.

I dont think my grammer or spelling is bad, I do put some effort in it.

Also, I came to this thread to disagree with Ush on something..anything.

Ushy *hides a smile*

You may think that you' re not really a writer or a journalist. So, spelling and grammar may not seem important. But since you are putting your thoughts/opinion on-line, you are effectively writing for an audience.

And while little typos here and there are forgivable, consistent misspellings and other errors can turn off some of us.

I didn't realise you enjoyed it so much!

Ok, let's see... you are a very beautiful girl.

(you too, Stormy)
