I mean, you have "real" rascism, "fake" racism (like that one about not letting someone cutting the line makes you a racist cause the other one has a different skincolor), or "stupidity" racism (afraid of being called a racist so you do every possible thing to try and avoid that, like the terms of indians and such as in Spin City)

Like, "hmm I wonder if I should call this guy 'hispanic' or 'mexican' he might get offended if I call him a 'mexican'." The thing about the word "equality" is that it is supposed to be exactly what it sounds like. Equal rights for everyone, not giving more rights to a certain group because they were treated badly in the past by people who may or may not have been the average white American's ancestor.
A couple days ago I watched this thing in my history class about "reparations"--'the payment of damages; money or materials made as repayment. ie; backpay for slave labor'. The concept seems odd to me..The black community in the US today have never been slaves. They can't actually "feel the pain of their ancestors", or at least not in the same way as the slaves did. They never experienced slavery.
something about racism does bother me, now this does not apply to everyone and please dont get offended, but if someone is a minority and do not get what they want or something, the first thing they clame is racism, its always racism when they do not get what they want. And some think that the goverment owes them something, and WHite people get desicriminated against too but noone cares because they are white. Liek that college thing in Michighan, now if they gave white people free points there would be this BIG CRY OF RACISM! Now I know that some people are racists and they suck! But lets not give special rights to poeple just because they are a minority. i. I mean since some people live in poor comunities and they have this big thing againsts white people so when a cop arrests a minority they say its racism, some use it as an escuse. Now I can see the point with people who HAVE felt it but not To many people do. I want to tell you a story, now here in Lewiston Maine a BIG Somalian group came in, they came to Maine JUST to get on welfare, now that really pisses me off, they didn't even tryo to work, just get on welfare, and now lewistons economy has gone down the toilet! And my family is middle-class and has to pay 10-15 grand in taxes which much of it goes to supporting people who do not try to work (YES a lot of poeple use wel-fare as a way out) or minorites that get special rights One of my faovirte quotes was on KING OF THE HILL it sates " Its getting pretty bad in American when the only person you can openly hate and make fun of are white people" Again please do not get offened, this statement applys to few (if any) of you. my math teacher gave the class a lecture today about racism and jokes about racism shouldn't be told in his class or in any. he brought it up for some school in fremont had a teacher or two who were rude and made some crude remarks to some students of a different culture. luckily, rednecks don't count! so we are free to insult brian! 😆

Darth> You’re right. This racism-issue can make everyone confused, and thinking “uh, now WHAT do I call that guy?” I think the way out of it is to – somehow – stop thinking about it. Some “ethnic minorities” have been subjected to racism for so long, they see racism anywhere – and I do not blame them. Imagine being yelled at on the streets, by people you’ve never met, telling you to “get the f**k back to (country of origin)”.
And then there are those who abuse it - I've experienced the "cutting in in the line" first hand. But it's indirect racism claiming "they" all do that.

However – I don’t think “positive discrimination” is a bad idea – seeing as there is STILL racism around. It’s simply harder to get a job, if you’re not flesh-coloured/Caucasian looking/white.
Once women used to be in the same position, and males thought it impossible for women to be leaders. Futher back the Aristocracy was appalled by the thought of democracy – peasants couldn’t possibly know what was good for them.
