Yah, there's that whole legalizing marriage thing...and you'll need the better 2/3 of the world to stop using the term "***" as a derogitory comment.
It's a long road....and the time will come when gays are accepted. Considering how long it took for people to accept women and blacks as equals.....I wouldn't be surprised if gays don't get fair treatment until some time after 2008

oo haha sorry!
And about people saying gay and such. . .that might not ever go away, just because its now a slang term that a lot of people use. And not everybody who uses it is agenst gays, its just in there vocabulary (and what really makes them mad if they say you or something else is gay is "do i look happy?" ect. its lame but its amusing as well)
It's interesting, originally the term gay (as in happy) was chosen by certain homosexual groups back in the 1970's to actually be the nonofficial name of their sexual culture. Up till that point there was the derogatory names, and being called homosexual, which was pure denotation, and was not expressive. However the term "gay" carried positive connotations, and served as a way of homosexuals to describe themselves and as a sign of self-reclamation. Before then the word gay had other uses, it was sometimes used to describe playboys (the extremely rich young men that is, not models in a magazine). Thus the term gay was seen by the homosexual community for a time as something positive, it sounded positive, and acted as a way of uniting and expressing themselves. Unfortunately this spirit was also corrupted by those who turned what was hoped to be something good into another form of insult.
Of course the word gay had been associated with homosexuals some time before it was decided by Los Angeles collective to make it semi official, but not in a negative way.
Interesting...um, Link, you're kidding about 2008, right? It took a hell of a long time for women and black people to get rights, and they're still discriminated against. For an end to actual discrimination, try 2108- if you're the hopeful sort. Which is, of course, the reason to advance the rights as soon as possible so that the acceptance is broadened sooner. Sorry, I'm on Sudafed. If this is disjointed, that's why- AND wouldn't you know I'm still congested?
I don't think so. I think a child needs parents of both sexes to help guide them, to give them a better idea of the world.
How could lesbians guide a boy through puberty, or vice versa?
How could they talk to their daughter about boys, or vice versa?
Also, human children can only be naturally created by a male and a female. It just seems natural to me that they be raised by a male and a female.
