this mindset isnt exclusive to halo.. other games have taken this approach and still succeed.. such as the street fighter series

Sure you can. By taking the reviews for all the games and getting your grand total. If we go by that way the greatest game of the 21st Century is Metroid Prime with a 96.3% out of a 100.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time would be number 1 with a 97.7%. Now this is taking ALL the reviews made for the game and coming up with an average.

"Greatest" and "Best" are words associated with quality, and quality is entirely subjective. There can be no official best game ever, or it would be fact and everyone would have to accept it.

Agreed. For example, I can't tell you how many Top 100 lists I've seen with Citizen Kane ranked as the #1 greatest movie of all time. I've watched it. I liked it. However, I disagree, very much, that it deserves such a title.

There can be no "greatest game of all time." Despite what EGM says.....

And yet that average is still based on reviews, which are opinions.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to Halo 3. Granted, it might not be innovating much (Forge is about the only thing), but the additions of the equipment, Saved Films features, ability to share content on a console, etc. are nice touches to an already excellent multiplayer and single-player formula.

I forgot about the Saved Films. Man youtube is so going to get filled up with Halo 3 movies.

I actually remember when Halo first came out, I got my Xbox on release day. It didn't have half the stuff Bungie hyped it would have, it was one of the biggest let downs ever. "The enemies plan strategies!", no they don't.

I've seen an interview confirming Halo 3's superior CGI, hence the increased intelligence of the brutes in H3.

And of course Gouki would curbstomp Master Chief, Parasite and survive Halo activation.

Gouki just uses his SGS and sends all the Flood to his realm, and kicks a submarine through the ring, destroying it.

its gone gold (that means the game is finished and is now being placed on CD's )

also if you are a RED VS BLUE fand then you will be happy to hear that they are remaking every episode on the halo 3 beta and halo 3 its self
