Why do you say that?

I just do not think it is as good as most seem to believe it will be 😛

Sure it will be good, but not great 🙂

Any particular reasons though?

It's already not as good as people think, so the most hyped, masturbated over installment of the game won't be much different.

I actually went and replayed a bit of Halo today and it dawned on me as to why there's vehicles. Most of the levels are so big that if you had to actually walk through them you'd be bored shitless. I still do get bored shitless, but that's me.

You've made your opinion quite clear; I was just curious as to why Cowgirl feels it won't be as good as people think.

My main thought is that Halo 2 was not as good as the first one, which kind of leads me to the thought that Halo 2 will be better than the third.

Of course I could be totaly wrong and this game could wind up legendary 🙄

It is quite hard to explain, but I believe Halo 3 will be kind of lame 😇

I will most likely try it out the first chance I get because I am curious of the plot, but the actual gameplay will in my opinion probably be lame 😛

'Same old Halo'

In my opinion a sequel should mean varity which I do not believe is the case with this 🙂

Sequel never means variety 😐

I think this game will be better than 2, but not as good as the original.

The originals gameplay was good but the multiplayer sucked ass. halo 2 Multiplayer was leaps and bounds better.

Sequeling meaning variety?

ROFL.

Why not ask for another game instead?

With that said people will find a way to complain no matter what. And have you ever pondered the thought of what might have happened if Bungie actually decided to change Halo's gameplay? Fans would *****, moan, complain and cause riots as a result. Besides why fix what ain't broke? To give you an example of how overzealous Halo's fandom is; they actually complained about Bungie changing the weight physics of the flag during the beta. You could no longer bounce the flag like in Halo 2. People are afraid of change by nature. Just a flag change made the fanbase go nuts. Imagine if the formula was changed. Yes...you might be getting the idea now.

That's the point, though.

If you're gonna say "Why fix what ain't broke?", then fair enough, but at least admit that Halo isn't really much more than a basic FPS that people love purely based on the multiplayer (Which is nothing to do with the gameplay or game itself) or just liking it.

People actually go on like it's some mega innovative, unquestionably great game. It's not, there are much better FPS games now, as there were before. Goldeneye still stands above Halo in MANY, MANY ways, some would say all except graphics and lack of online multiplayer.

It's like people who love Halo so much that they diss Gears of War simply because you have to use strategy and think.

If the technology exists to make games like Bioshock, like Gears of War, like Resident Evil 5 etc, then why bother making anything generic at all? The reason is; people who aren't good at games need games to be good at. Enter Halo.

Just like there is Coldplay for people who aren't, to be honest, smart enough or into music enough for bands like Tool, there's Halo, for people who can't hack Half-Life or Bioshock, or want something less complex.

That said, if you like Halo, fine, preference is preference, but it is what it is. If people are gonna refuse to differentiate between obvious levels of superiority that extend beyond preference, we'll never have any advancements in games.

Bioshock was made because people refused to tolerate shit anymore and actually wanted a crazily good game.

Too many people settle for 4 installments of Devil May Cry instead of actually saying "No, make better games. We've seen this shit before.".

Yeah but not everyone has time to get involved into deep games like Gears of War, Metroid, or BioShock. Some people just want to sit down and be able to jump into a game like that without having to worry about trying to remember all these commands. Simplicity isn't always a bad thing. Heck that's what made Super Smash Bros so fun was that the gameplay was so simple that you could just sit down and go fight.

I agree with you just saying that not all games have to have these great innovative ways to play to make them fun.

I'm not saying the opposite, I'm saying that too many people just constantly accept the same old stuff thrown in their face.

If you enjoy God of War, Halo and any other number of change-a-command-or-two-but-nothing-else series', then fine. I just have an issue with people who claim these games are innovative, and will then have a pop at Nintendo for producing a lot of Mario games, most of which add many more new things than the games THEY like.

True. Mario does change gameplay a lot. Halo basically took Golden Eye 007 and changed it to fit a different theme.

for me halo is fun.. but you dont learn anything that was implimented into the game..

like with quake 3.. you use the physics to do rocket wall jumps and other crazy stunts..

with halo, you abuse glitches to jump to the top of the map and snipe people...or kill your teammates with friendly fire off

I'd just like for that to change before I start enjoying halo again

How do you even compare the two? Goldeneye has much more to the gameplay than Halo.
