Halo 3

PC Halo ftw!

Metroid Prime 3 is going to ruin my Halo 3 experience. I mean after using the Wiimote for one day to play a FPS...I just can't have the same enjoyment anymore with the analog sticks.

Anything new and GOOD will ruin it IMO.

After all this is the 3rd Halo game....

Bioshock is new...and good so it ruined Halo 3.

Metroid Prime ain't new...but the wiimote feature is new and good...it shall ruin it.

But at least I can always count on Halo's multiplayer.

Yeah but Halo 3 will have something Bioshock nor Metroid Prime 3 has. The greatest online play you can ever experience!

That genuinely is just about the only reason Halo is so popular.

Remove that and there are a handful of FPS shooters that are actually better, gameplay-wise. Halo, despite the fanboyism, has nothing a standard FPS doesn't have.

Halo is a lot like WoW in that it didnt really do anything that new, it just perfected the formula.

It didn't actually perfect anything, really.

How do you feel it did?

-AC

Really want to play Halo 3 soon.

LOL...

That is not for all people, I for one actually almost hate the multiplayer, I absolutely love the campaign, I have been playing Halo 1 and 2's since the beginning and I still play it.

That's fine, if you enjoy it. It's like the Coldplay of games.

If you think it's amazing just because you have great times playing it, go for it, but claiming it to be more than it is would be where the line of stupidity gets crossed.

It's not some massively innovative, surpass-everything-before-it shooter. It's not actually packing anything that innovates the gameplay at all.

It appears Halo 3 is gone Gold! 😊

I liked Halo 2 cause I'm really good at it(I'm good at most FPS games) and if I'm good at Halo 3, I shall thoroughly enjoy it.

I would play the campaign than do online for about a week. I never actually saw what Halo truly had that made it "the greatest game of all time."

I always hated those people back when Halo 2 kept getting delayed and they would just say, "well it's the sequel to the greatest game of all time. They have to make it perfect."

Halo isn't the greatest game of all time. That title would go to a Mario game or a Zelda game.

Well it's all opinion, but I don't think, to anyone with a bit of sense and perceptive ability, that Halo can be labelled even the best FPS of all time, much less overall game.

at least even the developers recognize that Halo 2 was a buggy PoS

3 is starting to conjure good gameplay ideas (charged plasma pistol shot shutting down vehicles / bubble shield, land mine / detachable gun emplacements, and so forth).. but I still have my skepticism

Notice how it's just basically "NEW GUNS!".

New weapons do not count as new gameplay. Unless, of course, they actually alter the game, which these will not.

What about the utilities, like bubble shields, gravity lifts, etc? Wouldn't those alter gameplay?

for whatever reason, most gamers fear new gameplay because they'll have to *gasp* learn something all over again

the sub-items should change gameplay to a degree.. but I dont think it will change so much that it will feel more different than a halo 2.5

I must disagree, I never liked the Zelda games, and Mario was alright, a lot of fun, but definately not the best, it is impossible to determine the 'best game of all time.'

It definately will be more than a Halo 2.5, have you read anything other than what you have seen here about Halo 3?

Let's be honest, it will be the same with new guns and some shields.

It's not what people claim it is. It's little more than a generic FPS with graphics.

No, they don't alter the way you play the game, just the way you kill stuff. It has nothing aside from personal weaponry like Goldeneye, PD and now Bioshock. Those games, especially Bioshock, have elements that alter how you can/have to play. Halo's AI can't even compete with it for one thing.

But this isn't necessarily about Halo Vs anything, it's me simply pointing out that the game gets criminally overrated cos kids are good at it, therefore they dislike anything they aren't as good at. Or like it less. It doesn't make Halo better, it means you enjoy it more.

People act like it's some innovative game cos you can have vehicles, but they don't alter the gameplay. "Oh wow, I would have had to walk that if I didn't drive.". That's not altering the gameplay, it's just providing additional weapons in the form of vehicles.

Red Faction is more innovative than Halo, and there are FPS much innovative than that.
