Halo 3

See, the thing is, I'm going to trust the opinions of people who 1) like the same things I like and 2) have a more educated opinion on something.

But you know what, if you're so damn determined to be right, then fine. Whatever. You're right. I don't have the energy to argue with a brick wall right now.

Now if we could get this thread back to talking about Halo?

I'm looking forward to Halo 3, not for the singleplayer portion, but for MP.

I made the decision to hold off on any PC game purchase until I can get an new computer, so no Crysis, Company Of Heroes EXP Pack, and others.

So, I'll probably pick Halo 3 up sooner or later.

There's a difference between trusting an opinion and clutching to it like an anemone, Lana. You know I have no personal issue with you, but you're right. Rarely do I see you so surely state your opinion unless someone has said it first, someone you like. It happens in other forums, only here you seem to get away with being a bit more forceful because you are a mod.

Doesn't actually make you correct, but whatever.

Halo and that.

lol too true... but its hard to come by good sci fi these days anyhow

I think Halo has a pretty solid plot compared to most FPS/action games.

It wasnt bad. I think it was on the same par as Half Life.

Im looking forward to the MP, but I cant wait to play co-op on the campaign, that was my favorite part of the first games.

I'd say Forge is rather innovative; is it not?

I dont know what to think of Forge right now, I guess the "edit as you play" thing is innovative. I think that part sounds stupid though, other than that its just a customisation tool.

HALO 3 WILL RULE

Those are probably the greatest statements I have ever heard from either of you.

And no one has actually mentioned this yet but i believe that Halo 2 was the first game to allow you to board vehicles... seems pretty innovative to me. And also Halo 3 will be different due to the "deploy equipment" feature. AC, you claimed that to be more weapons but its actually special items that will completely change peoples strategy once acquired. Gravity lifts, bubble shields, power drainer, and mines are all four of them I think. Thats the little addition that halo needs to change the gameplay a bit on top of the new weapons, vehicles etc.

Yeah. I just beat teh first Halo for the first time. The plot was pretty decent. But man, some of the levels are just piss poor. That library level was terrible. Didn't even feel like a level, felt like a bad tech demo. Do the same thing 4 times. Really bad.

Now I'm going through Halo 2, the level design is a bit better. But I miss the Assault Rifle and the pistol. I'm glad they're coming back for Halo 3.

Eh. The Halo:CE pistol was rigged.

It's true. New weapons do in fact change the way you play because each weapon is designed to have specific strengths and weaknesses. They do change tactics to the game.

I wasn't sold on Forge until I heard of a game involving the Bungie crew where one person was a monitor. The monitor placed a teleporter outside the boundaries on Snowbound so that if anyone passed through it, they'd get shot and destroyed by the automated turrets. Then, he picked up the other half of the teleporter and flew around, scooping people up and sending them to their death outside the safe boundary.

Possibilities like that are going to make it a great time, I think. 😛

Yeah, totally agree with you about the levels.

Play Half Life and Half Life 2 and then go to Halo, its complete 180. It's shite. The library level is horrible. I stopped playing the game during that level. It's just that brutal.

Overall though, the action is intense and thats its only saviour, but Bungie has to atleast hire some decent level designers.

1/2 of the game is the same. Turn right, blast 3 elites, a few grunts and 2 jackels, then rinse and repeat. Hopefully, Halo 3 remedies that.

Spartan, Halo wasnt the first to use vehicles, if I remember correctly, Tribes was one of the first.

You mean boarding vehicles? What system was Tribes on?

Warthogs are fun.

Boarding, you mean get into a vehicle?, or what?

Tribes was a PC game.
