Good point. The game with the highest review should always get game of the month. 🙄 I mean it's not like they lowered its score just because it's the third in the trilogy.

Yes, the game with the highest review should get game of the month. It's only logical. And of course they didn't lower it's score just becaue it's third in the trilogy.

Anyways, yes they were indeed reveiwed in different issues.

Metroid was reviewed in the October Issue

Bioshock was reviewed in the September Issue

They were released in August why would they review one a month later and another two months later? And that 10/10 was one review for Game Informer gives you a second smaller review and that was like a 9 or something while the second for Metroid was a 9.5. Total them up boy!

Both the main review and the second opinion are 10's for Bioshock. While the main review is a 9.5 for Metroid, and the second opinion is an 8.75.

It's not when the game is released, it's when the publishers send the magazine the games. They got Bioshock a good while before the release date and thus were able to publish their review earlier. Nintendo didn't send out Metroid until later, so print magazines had to wait on reviewing them. Heck, EGM is just reveiwing the game now in this comming issue.

Again, if you don't believe go look on Gameinformer.com. You can look up reviews based on what issue they were published.

When a magazine chooses a game of the month, it's out of the games reviewed in that issue, not necessarily out of the games coming out in a given month. Since Metroid and Bioshock were both reviewed in different issues they were not in competition with eachother.

Though it's clear that had they been, Bioshock would have won.

I love the lighting on it, how it reflects off the armor and guns in this one

Haha it's beating shitty Final Fantasy and metal Gear Solid.

Halo 3 deserves the game of the year award over bioshock IMO. I will admit that I haven't beaten the game yet but after I have I highly doubt my decision will change. Sure its a great game... and theirs pretty much nothing wrong with it but the only thing it has is singleplayer. Halo 3 on the other hand has split screen, system link, xbox live, matchmaking, custom games, forge, theater, skulls etc. Which totals up to years more in gameplay and a ridiculously high replay value.

Surprise, surprise. A Halo fanboy saying Halo 3 deserves game of the year award. 🙄 🙄 I mean basically all they added since Halo 2 was forge and theater. They spent three years and millions of dollars just to be able to add two new things to Halo.

Well, Bioshock spent much longer than that in development and didn't add a heck of a lot more.
