Badass game...badass game...badass game...I could say that for hours!
I beat it on Heroic on first day and just recently beat it on Legendary, doing a bit each day, and I must say, it was friggin amazing! Best Halo game yet in my opinion. I have found about 3 skulls and 2 terminals. I just don't understand one thing for people who have beaten it on Legendary...[spoiler]what was that planet that they started flying towards after the credits?[spoiler]
Gravity Hammer kicks all kinds of ass, flamethrower burns all kinds of ass. I swear, my second time through "Cortana" on Legendary, I found about 3 flamethrowers, and on my Heroic way through...none, it was rediculous.
The Story line was great, the graphics were top-notch I thought, whoever says it is a Halo 2.5 in terms of graphics clearly know little or didn't play the game.
So I finally beat Halo 3 on Heroic and I currently have no desire to play it on hardest level. But that may change. I'm now waiting for call of duty 4.
Bottom line: Halo 3 is Halo 2 with upgraded graphics. BioShock will sweep game of the year awards this year just like Gears of War did last year.
Imo, Halo 3 neither went out with a bang nor a bust. But somewhere in between. I liked the 9/11 like tribute at the end and if it means anything, thanks for the series Bungie./MS. My best PC and console multiplayer memories came from the Halo series and it's the reason i got a 360 in early '06.

Dont assume. There a number of games coming before the end of the year that could beat out both, and I expect them to.

Well that/those game/s better hurry. The awards shows are just around the corner. And I'm not assuming. I'm going by what I see and have seen.
For example Game informer, one of the the best sources for video games, gave BioShock a ten. I've been a subscriber to this mag for a few years and i don't remember the last time they gave any game a 10. They surely didn't gave any other game a 10 this year. Last year Gears of War, which won that mags game of the year award received a 9.5 from them.
And that goes for other sources, as well. Gamepro gave it, if i remember correctly, a 5 out of 5. My friend told me that Gamespy/Fileplanet called it "the perfect game". BioShocks taking it. It's definitely the best game i've played this year.

Game Informer gave Game of the Month to Metroid Prime 3 instead of BioShock. MP3: Corruption has a good shot of game of the year. So does Super Mario Galaxy.
